So did France get nerfed in AoW or not ?

Playing as the Ottomans (Non-AoW game) and France just roflstomped my face while "helping" Venice, which after some time attacked them (had made separate peace).

This crap is getting out of hand... Playing France feels like using wallhack in a multiplayer shooter, seriously now...

In what year are we talking here? England AI is pretty much useless when it comes to land battles.

Exactly 1500... I know England ain't got what it takes, but Portugal was in it too ....And some other countries.... Anyway back to the topic.

Probably, I've noticed France starts off with 28 troops now, instead of 30. Not much of a difference I know, but it shows there has been some kind of nerf to them somehow.

The changes to vassal annexation may nerf them somewhat, as it will take much longer and the provinces will have 75% autonomy.

Can only say for my current AoW game, I'm playing as Ethiopia so I don't know exactly how strong France was but France has gotten their ass kicked more than a few times by different countries. It is now 1780 and they just control most of the original French territories.
This is the first game I had where France was so week, where I wasn't the one who was responsible for their weakness. Usually if I don't put them down they are much stronger than they are now...

I always think of England/GB as a naval force. If I need a friend that can fight my naval battles for me then England/GB is your friend.



But when it comes to land war, as a German (cant remember who it was) general once said if the English land in central Europe they will be arrested.

Check this, while the Burgundian Inheritance didn't happen its unusual for them to hold on at all, and Spain taking Gascony is kinda insane
