A game that is installed and playable on my computer is clearly superior to one that is not. AoD wins.
Well, I can honestly say that the first feeling you get with AoD is one of deja-vu - and that's normal, being the game in fact an enhancement of HoI2 and not a completely "new" product.
But when you start playing a bit, get accustomed with the new features, discover how much effort has been put into this project to completely overhaul HoI2 gameplay, you end falling in love with it, and don't understand how could have you played ol' HoI2 for such a long time.
I played HoI2 for ages, especially with very good mods. Anything to convince me to spend these 20€?
why I should buy AoD when I already own HoI2 with expansions.
Well, over in the HOI3 forum, a lot of people would recommend AoD actually. HOI3 is not on the best of terms with its community.
I expect HOI3 will be a great game someday, after an expansion and several patches for said expansion pack. Thats what it took for HOI2 lets not forget. But right now, HOI3 can't really compete with AOD.
HOI3 has a lot of potential, but right it's only fun to play between 1936 to 1941 maybe, after that it gets boring for me because the AI is just so bad.
Once they fix the AI hopefully in 1.4 I think I will give HOI3 another go.
