Paradox would be perfect here, since the graphical limitations that most devs find burdensome wouldnt be a problem for most Paradox titles.

The processor is pretty weak, though, and the "normal" Paradox titles seem to all heavily relay on the CPU. While there are plenty of strategy titles in the AppStore that I find interesting, I agree that more meat-y stuff would be very welcome. :)

Do you have any good names to share, because I am really looking for some good empire building games. Sadly the best I can find is either Civilization, starbase orion or Assendancy, but I really need something.... Bigger and with a better AI.

Ahh, true... the new quad core cpu in the ipad3 might help remedy that, though!

Speaking of which - does anyone know if any Paradox games can make use of multiple cores/threads?

Heh, you mentioned some of the good ones already. :) I've really come to enjoy Starbase Orion and its active and response developer. Other strategy games I spend too much time on are Uniwar (HD version coming out any day now), New Colony, Palm Heroes 2, Samurai, and some others that are more akin to board games (Neuroshima Hex for example). These aren't empire builders, though, just pretty good strategy games.

All our new (internal) games should support multicore. You'll see some benefit with more cores, but the value drops off because there's only so much that can be threaded, especially in HoI3/V2 which weren't originally designed for it.

Sure, that makes sense. I'm thinking about putting together a new pc soon, though, and was wondering if chips with more than 2 cores make any difference in Paradox games, or if I should just save some money and find the fastest dual core cpu.

It's a shame there isnt a way to offload more to the separate cores, since chips these days seem to be opting for more cores at the expense of raw speed.

So define Applefanboys if you could be so kind :)

Err, lets not and say we did.
One polarizing issue (steam) being debated at a time is more than enough.

Does Android have a tablet equivalent?

Also any chance we'll ever see our favorite P'dox in house games making their way to tablets?
