Okay, so now this price discussion include references to Mussolini and Hitler... Im sure Stalin is in there somewhere too but I can´t be bothered to read through the whole thread.

It´s getting out of hands peeps. Seriously, if you have to "save up" to get hold of €$ 20 you might have problems balancing your budget? If you think it´s too much, don´t buy it. Simple as that.

For the hours of entertainment this game has given me I think it is good worth, but then again, I don´t buy all the DLC´s. CoP didn´t intrerest me for example.

P.S. I think most swedes and danes that wouldn´t mind higher taxes are brainwashed into thinking they actually get their moneys worth. If they knew the amounts our respective governments spend on crap, I think we´d have revolts on our hands. Wouldn´t it be sweet. :D D.S.

When Mussolini and Hitler gained power the world changed too. Does that mean one have to tolerate a definetly bad change without criticizing? I just see that a company is trying to milk its fans, and this pretty extreme. If you want to get the full EU4 paket, you have to pay 100 (!!!!!!!!) euros. Does one seriously have to defend this? Even if you call yourself a fan?

Wow! I've read some pretty outrageous strawmen posts in my time but this comes close to winning the cigar.

Thanks for the laugh out loud moment.

Out of curiousity, if someone in Denmark earns 25.000€ annually, how much does he pay in total taxes?
It is hard to say, since there are all kinds of taxes and deductables and so on. An anual income of 25.000€ is really low though---luckily most taxwork goes automatically. My guess would be that he pays around 35--37% in direct taxes (depends on exactly where in Denmark you live). If you earn over ~80.000$ a year (20% of the population do that) you pay the highest tax rate which is around 55% in direct taxes. That is just the direct taxes though. The indirect taxes includes a 25% VAT on everything, 180% tax on new cars (just today the far left proposed raising that by 40%), large taxes on petrol and many more. I think the highest earners ends up paying something on the order of 70--75% in total taxes. You 25000€ low earner would probably pay ~50% in total taxes, but I am not sure about that at all. The average wage is around 60000$ a year. It is very expensive to live in Denmark though; buying a big mac meal for instance will cost you~12$.

On the other hand you do get free health care and the government provides a treatment guarantee which means that if you aren't treated within what the government thinks is a reasonsble time (differs from disease to disease of course) you will get treatment on a private hospital for free.
You also get free education including university degrees and if you have a qualifying bachelors degree there are no restrictions in getting a masters degree; there is a limited amount of phD positions, but they are still free. And you get paid a salary of ~1000$ a month by the government for studying; it isn't much, but it is possible to survive on it. And there are other things the system pays for.
One of the things that has made it successful is that it is universal: I.e. you get things like free education and free health care no matter how filthy rich you are. It also means that should something horrible happen to you you know you will be taken care of; nobody are left to live on the street if they don't want to, since if you have no assets you get ~1000$ a month and a free flat and that flat isn't just a closet, but a decent flat.

Except people (Johan included) have already said that's 20$ without tax = 20€ with VAT.
But that is just a coincidence; the policy was also enforced when that wasn't true.

Seriously, you've lost all perspective at this point and are just being silly. So silly that it's stopped being funny.

You need to take a break, chill out, drink some beer, watch a DVD, etc, etc instead of losing your rag on a game's forum over something so trivial. Sorry, but it really is trivial.

A bit offtopic but i had to answer this.

25.000€ = 187.500 dkk (roughly)
since the tax rate on the first 415.000 dkk (roughly again) is about 40% however the first 42.500 dkk earned is not taxed.
So the incometax would be 58.000 dkk or 7.700€. If you use a company paid phone private, have company paid healthcare you get some extra taxes. 300€ for the phone for example (which is a tax if you have phone/internet/computer thats company paid)
Then again 25.000€ is not really a pay many would work for in Denmark (its on the border of the lowest union hourwages)

It was never intended to be funny. I like how the peoples here are making fun about obviously oversubscribed examples but just ignore the message of the post. I would call it the smartass-syndrome.
Anyway, the discussion gots useless, so i can take the break and come down from my ENDLESS RAGE!
