Small suggestions that I think would improve the game (perfect for a Custodian initiative)

  1. Improve merging large fleets. At the click of a button, I want to create as many fleets at the command limit as possible, all with a similar spread of ship types.
  2. In galaxy creation, allow the player to select the starting and ending AI difficulty when scaling is turned on, and preferably the year the ending AI difficulty will be reached. I want a more difficult early game with the same lategame difficulty.
  3. In galaxy creation, allow us to select the number of midgame and endgame crises that will fire, preferably with an inputted range so we never know if more will be coming.
  4. Implement an end-game Galactic Community decision, crisis, or megastructure that causes all empires to declare total war on one another. Sometimes the galaxy needs a push so it doesn't stagnate.
  5. I think the Galactic Community should be a bunch of diplomats squabbling. The espionage system should tie into this. Furthermore, I would like to see the Galactic Custodian have the option to institute extreme measures (with the regular members being able to rebel to depose them), or disband the GC altogether.

Honestly the first 3 there would be amazing, 4 and 5 would be a little much unless I could turn them on and off for certain games. Okay maybe just 4 cause I like the idea of black mailing the GC into voting my way.

I think the Galactic Community should be a bunch of diplomats squabbling. The espionage system should tie into this.
What do you mean by this?

Furthermore, I would like to see the Galactic Custodian have the option to institute extreme measures (with the regular members being able to rebel to depose them)
Isn't this the Galactic Imperium?

or disband the GC altogether.
Why would a custodian want to disband the galactic community and give up all their special powers?

Oh thank you! I'll do that! I assume I should break it up into 4 separate posts so people can vote on each thing individually (I might skip reposting my last point as it is the most vague).

I dislike the idea of being able to disband the GC... I think having the option to leave it is fine. Based on the idea that once such an idea gets rolling, it's impossible to roll it back. It's just that significant and formative of the idea of a galactic civilization, can't just vote such an idea out of existence. Presumably trillions of people around the galaxy have internalized it already.

Leave it, sure.
