So having read the dev diaries, wiki and watched the Blorg making friends, I feel like I have a rough idea of how Stellaris will play. Having said that, I imagine that a lot of it will be a surprise or shock, as I know that Wiz is not showing us everything (and using a hot-build).
So far Stellaris looks amazing (of course) but hugely complex and busy, full of moving icons and things to check on. In CK2 I usually play quite a fast game until a war breaks out when I slow it down. For Stellaris I doubt I'll ever do that as I feel like I'd miss something with the way everything moves around. I'd imagine later patches and DLC will add some more automation but for now I'll have to keep an eye on what is going on and who is idle!
So at present it'll be a slow moving game, which I don't see as a bad thing. There will be plenty of time to digest events, think over decisions and really get involved with the character of the setting. Assuming I don't get murdered straight away, to add to this I plan to do a fair amount of writing up and screen-capping for my first AAR for PDS.
Does anyone else have concerns like this? That they'll struggle, at least at first, to make decisions quick enough and need to slow things right down?
As a quick aside I'm a veteran PDS player (EU4 and CK2 are two of my favorites) and have played a fair few 4X games, though generally have preferred turn based ones.
