so I’ve played several games as both Poland and Greece forming commonwealth and Byzantine respectively and with the new changes to soft attack it’s made it very hard impossible without cheating to pull off victory against the axis I would prefer to achieve victory without cheating so I wanted to know using land doctrine and division layout that stops the German advance without the now essential air as I don’t have enough factories to keep up with demand of land not the least win the air wars my last fight as Greece owning turkey and Bulgaria in a defensive war italy wanting to recreate Roman Empire scoffs trying to recreate old empires, so lame.
Anyway superior firepower airland for the hard boost didn’t produce any air because I was focusing on keeping up to date on artillery and small arms I end d up conquering all the axis but japan and then soviets attacked and defeated them the problem is I lost 3 million to axis which lost 3 million to me and 2 million to allies then I lost 1 million to soviets while they lost 5 million I was wondering how to reduce my casualties and reduce my need to use add equipment and manpower cheats
The thing is there isn’t enough research slots to keep with what the game demands you play with

Any advise would be helpful

So my divisions are 3 mountaineer made up of 3m/4inf/2art support:recon engineer art, 5 Cavalry 10 support same as above, 16 infantry 7inf/2art support same as above by the end having 5 generals all under the same field commander.

My gripe about the new system is I want to add a new general I have to disband the whole group and then recreate it with the new army I can’t add a new army to an existing group

Also which traits are better to pick thourough planner or quick planner I skipped it and took logistic wizard

You can add a new army to an existing army group ... select the new army and then right click (I think) on the army group.

My recommendation is if you have a lot of manpower, don't worry about staying completely up to date on equipment, but rather have your forces dig in and build fortifications on that line. Then just put a ton of forces on that line and guard your ports with additional forces. I would use my research slots on free bonuses like doctrines and most importantly industrial as up to date as possible.

for nations like greece and poland is GBP better option even though it got nerfed a little but with the ability to pick staff traits you can regain them there and with the focus on battl plans is GBP better than SPF? and division composition 7/2 or 10 with support art better?

also as a general question when you create new generals is there anyway to pick traits they are created with or is it random and also is it important to start the game creating a general and field marshal or to wait till you have more divisions before converting on to field marshal?

also once i had time to research and more factories i replaced calvery with 5 6/4 light->medium tanks/motorized
