I would suggest to nerf some of the vehicles slightly - even if it goes against cannon - I had LRM and SRM carrier do excessive amounts of damage to my mechs - way more than enemy mechs. It just seems strange to me that I HAVE to lose half of my mech just approaching an SRM carrier. Or constantly getting hit with 3 LRM 20s from off screen just because you are fighting 4 vs 8 mechs + towers + vehicles and they constantly lock one of your mechs - you cant do anything about that, as to reach said LRM carrier you would have to expose yourself to even more fire from mechs and towers. Same goes for being able to fire 10 SRM6 each turn ...

Maybe force them to have to reload one turn after firing - their armament is way stronger than most mechs of comparable tonnage - so they should have a downside.

They have a downside, just sneeze on them and they are destroyed ;)
More seriously, they are glass cannons that can dish out damage but not take it. Try hitting them with snipers, even if you are already in combat you should be able to manoeuvre to hit them without exposing yourself too much.
And there is no reason in the entire galaxy to approach an SRM carrier - most of the weapons you can carry will outrange them - spending more than one turn in range is almost inexcusable :)

Thing is sometimes you miss your shot - and a fully armored SRM carrier sometimes doesnt die to a full alpha. And I had LRM carrier sitting so far out of reach that it was impossible to push them or it took me 3 turns of getting sensor locked to get there.
