Maybe proto-Slavs in Poland, but Venedi wouldn't span Russia in 300 bc. I'd maybe place them in a small area in eastern Poland and western Ukraine, depending on what sources you go by:

I'm not an expert on the matter though, but Balto-Slavs would start their great migration only after the Germanics left a lot of territory uninhabited.
Below is a map of Europe 400 years after the start date.

I just hope that proto-Slavs exist in some form somewhere on the map so people who want to play them can attempt to establish an anachronistic Slavic kingdom during the times of the Roman Republic.

hehe.. it came from the pipriyet swamps. Full of anger and wielding clubs. And maybe hoping for a war like sass vs ere to conquer half the clay in the world. For truth, for justice for clay and our homelands the swamps!
Ofcourse the neighbours had a slightly different story, they in turn had the habit of driving all the deviants INTO the swamp to die. So why not some kind of "we be violet weirdos" +500% to light infantry? ;)

So I was surprised and a bit disappointed that there was so many empty spaces on the map. Ireland, Netherlands and to a lesser extent the possible proto-Slavs. Now I'm more ok with it. The game is going to be getting new content for what? Six years? more? after release. I'm sure by that time I'll be complaining about a lack of real estate with the map being almost completely full. If they're not doing older start dates it limits the areas in which the game can grow. I think they'll solve this by adding in new tribes later.

Having said that there really is very sketchy information about the proto-slavs with multiple origin theories so they are tougher than most to add. Though I hope they do. Slavic nations have always been my favourite starting position across all Paradox games.
