There is an event that abolishes slavery in May 13, 1888. It's the signing of the Golden Law (or Lei Áurea, in Portuguese). Please note that the abolishment of transatlantic slavery event DOESN'T end it in Brazil.

BTW, it does have some effects - If I am not mistaken, only if this event fires that the Brazilian monarchy falls to the revolutionary Republic in 1889.

Or, if you've downloaded all of OHGamer's hotfixes, slavery may end as early as 1836.

Not with Brazil, since it has a coded event already.

There is an event for Brazil to fire after the historic end of slavery if for some reason the base event did not fire, so that say sometime around 1900 Brazil can free slaves, but not before the historical period ended in 1888, IIRC the scripting.

Of course, a player could easily tweak the generic end slavery event in the hotfixes so that it can fire for Brazil earlier than historic.

Any other tips when playing as brazil? I am playing revolutions.
Thinking about conquering all of south america;)
First thing: Make yourself a democracy, or a con.mon, whichever floats your boat. Enact all social reforms and get yourself out of debt as quickly as possible. Then keep manipulating elections to keep liberals in power. This will make you an immigration magnet. (Plurality might be an issue though, as the US has lots of it, research ideological thought as soon as you are sure that you can keep the liberals in power and you can probably get at least as many immigrants as the US).
For some early increase in population, and therefor income, annex Uruguay. An easy target with about 1 million extra people in it.

If you want to take the warmongering path be sure to buy the britts and the french out of the continent before you start raking up BB, otherwise you will have two of the worlds largest fleets knocking at your door.

A general tip for playing a low population country: Make your biggest national pops clerks as soon as you can employ them, this will speed up your research greatly and you will have something to bargain with if you wan't to buy nice sunny places like Cuba or Jamaica.

The thing is that the liberal party in brazil dont have full citizenship so i dont think make the masses come to me. Does all social reforms matter for immigration? Like work safety and so on?

They help, but plurarity is by far a much bigger factor. And the liberal party will eventually be full citizenship, around 1890 or so.

Basically, the factors that draw immigrants are being civilized, plurality, continent (America, Asia, Africa, Europe in order of preference, although this matters more for where the immigrants actually go if they choose to move to your country), being the USA tag, citizenship and religious policy of your ruling party, government type, matching state religion, social reforms, not being in debt, and RGO/factory types/open slots, pretty much in that order of importantance. They are all relative to each other though; having a slavery party means your plurality must be significantly higher than the guy with full citizenship to be able to compete.

Oh, didn't know that. Still, being liberal is more important than your minority policy. This will though, as Ericus1 says, increase the need for high plurality.

Regarding social reforms: In my experience they are not THAT important but, all else equal, it's whats make you that tiny bit more attractive than the US. But don't give them any workhour cuts, 14h is alright but not more, since this decreases your factory efficiancy and thereby income and ind. score.
