Now that we can set rights on species, i think it's perfectly viable to allow domestic servants to be distributed around the empire. Resettling each slave pops is counter intuitive and time wasting. There already is a policy to decide if aliens can reside on core worlds or not. We can use that policy to restrict where slaves can be traded to. Domestic servants should be allowed for migratory rights. Or a separate policy for slave migration (restricting them from leaving the empire, should there be migration agreement) The happiness bonus is nice and it could be especially useful for decadent wide empire.
This may be a waste for authoritarian non-xenophobic empire, since miners and farmers are automatically designated as slaves. But alien slaves, recently conquered or not, could use this policy - especially for xenophobic empires.
I only bring this up because there is a very docile species with good resource gathering traits, but they are stuck in one corner of the world. I dont mind spending few influence to resettle them, and to at least put resettle feature to use, but its difficult spreading them around 40 different planets. And if primary pop take the tile, slave cannot grow. So i need to spend more influence points to resettle primary pop to make space for slave to grow.
Its also not a bad idea to have slave species be put on some kind of a "pool" where sectors can draw from, with designated primary slave planet to breed them. And all this done in accordance to empire policies and species rights. Just a thought, not that I really badly need them.
