This thread needs some 'stralia, mates.

First of all, my hometown Brisbane.
Night_skyline_of_Brisbane,_Queensland,_Australia.jpg

Then, there's the iconic Sydney skyline, with the Opera House

And finally, Melbourne and South Bank. Melbourne is probably the only Australian city to have big skyscrapers outside of its main central business district.

I prefer those cities that doesn't have so many tall buildings but instead are built with mid-sized buildings that are placed very, very dense. Like Stockholm or Paris ( - La Defense). It may not look as modern and flashy from a distance but at street level there's nothing that can beat that.

Look at many American cities. Houston are a worst case example. It has plenty of tall, sexy skyscrapers. But at street level it's a horrible experience. A random European city of 20.000 inhabitants feels more lively than Downtown Houston.

So I'd take density at street level over tall buildings in the sky any day. :)

Huston is the largest place in the US that doesn't have zoning laws

If your looking for a great street level experience try Boston & Philadelphia, the old Colonial sections of the town are awesome. Very Americana. If I were to choose which one to go to next it would have to be Boston. Reasons being that most of the city is safe, Philly not so much. Other than that they both have a great deal of history related to the American Revolutionary War.

If your looking for a great street level experience try Boston

unless your driving around, then no its horrible, those streets were not designed with driving in mind as far as I've experianced

This reminds me, in game you should have an option to plan out everything so Boston docent happen to your city

whats the museum got?

It's The Canadian Museum For Human Rights. Not a happy topic but an important one imo.

I prefer those cities that doesn't have so many tall buildings but instead are built with mid-sized buildings that are placed very, very dense. Like Stockholm or Paris ( - La Defense). It may not look as modern and flashy from a distance but at street level there's nothing that can beat that.

So I'd take density at street level over tall buildings in the sky any day. :)

I think the problem is that most North American cities are built for cars more than they are people. Street level experience is boring because it's meant to be driven by in a car, not walked around on foot. I don't think that necessarily has to do with the tall buildings themselves. Manhattan has the largest collection of sky scrapers in the world yet it's an incredibly lively experience compared to any other North American city I've visited.

Two panorama pictures of my city, Ljubljana.

Skyscraper, called Crystal Palace, on the right is the tallest skyscraper in my country and it has only 89 meters. But there is 360 meter Trbovlje chimney, which is the tallest in Europe.
