Some Ideas I had with this.. Military Expansion.

1. When Crimes get so bad that the police can barely manage, And your budjet is already fully raised. Than you can call in the military to restore order

2. Hostile invasion (Event wise) call in the military/police
  • 2b, Evacuate towns that you may have built scattered some reason to bigger cities
3. Military invasion? You can invade other players cities and they can invade yours, They can conquer and only vassalize you or you can to them,
  • 3b. Add something that lets you set a district to be the Regional capitals
4. And they could just somehow raid the Cities, blow some things up & sorta wreck the city, And then leave...

5. Or even they could just be their to just Assist in the cleanup effort, Establish Road blocks, Close roads off (Add Toll Roads to, And those military fence things 2 please?)

I feel we should not allow Military in a game like this. Yes it was in Sim City 4 but not for a game like this.

I could see it as a very, very distant DLC. Not the invasion and warfare part but something that would allow us to build military bases, with a good degree of customization. There are some cities in the world that have a very visible presence of the military. San Diego comes to mind.

Many of us are asking for more events on the streets. If riots ever make it into the game then having the military in the city could help. In many countries parades for the military are also a big event. Military police and research facilities would also be possible new services. I don't live in a country with a visible presence of the military but from what I've understood it's common in many countries that military people live in separate areas. So we could have a military specialization that will give us unique types of residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

I'd like to see a complete overhaul of the education system in the game. Adding research facilities, both civilian and military, with actual functions (mostly budget/funding/prizes) would be great. Preferably as a designated zone or district specialization.

I don't think a military DLC should be a priority. But I hope CO will continue to build on this game for many, many years and somewhere down the line it could actually make a good expansion. There's a lot of ways the military affects the lives in parts of the world and it's not only about violence and war.
