There shouldn't be any gaps in the models' structure (I was concerned about that too), although there could be some missing icons at the end of model series since the tech trees should now be a bit longer.

Im a great fan of SKIF and dont play HOI without it, if SKIF work fine with AoD ill buy, download and play, no SKIF = no playing, i cant stand the Paradox icons, they look like someting made for Commodore 64 in the early 80's...
both work without problems in AoD but you have to be careful when overwriting the files, some of them aren´t compatible, like trade or espionage screens...

No disrespect to the artists, but it's not my thing. Original HOI2 icons were great, you could see in an instant what type of unit you are selecting.
With SKIF I have to roll my mouse over to see what unit it is. Pointless.
For me it's the exact contrary. I tend to recognize real pictures better than fictitious, invented and poorly drawn ones, but to each their own, I guess!
well, to put it politely...: you have bad tastes.
Well it works but a few units are missing (the latest version of every type, the huge sub...).
Maybe the Skif-Team could make a new version or an update
that would be very kind 
De gustibus non est disputandum. No point in dragging it longer. Who wants uses it, who doesn't, does not have to.
BTW, as far as I can tell, only a few icons are missing - heavy subs, a future tank and a few more. I'll have to check it. Anyway, SKIF ate and swallowed ca. 3 years of my life (at least my free time in this period) and I'm not sure if I have a motivation to do anything more with it, even if it means adding a few icons here and there. The problem is I'm a perfectionist. But this project is and will be always imperfect, as we simply can't do icons for all countries, even for most of them. I hate unhistorical, "generic" icons, just can't play with them. OTOH I have no time and no resurces (pictures) to fill the gaps with properly uniformed soldiers, proper equipment ect. Not to say that looking at SKIF today I'd redo or improve a lot icons (for the 2nd or 3rd time already...). I guess it's called frustration
Maybe someone will take this project and carry on. Cegorach posted many new, great looking icons in SKIF's thread at DD/ARMA modding forum. I warmly recommend them.

However... In my folder with leftovers I have a nice Sent Toku submarine for IJN. Now it can finally find its own place, because heavy submarines are there. I did not have time to check which model it is in AoD, so you have to name it properly on your own and add a proper latin number to the picture (or rather letter, like "HSS" or so).

has anyone actually TRIED to use SKIF on AoD???
because I did that on the exact instant that I downloaded and installed AoD, and they obviously worked.
I mean, ok, obviously there are no icons for the new units such as the railway artillery and the '45+ units, but all the avaliable icons work perfectly. As someone said here, they are already compatible.

I have some time ago made my own set of SKIF icons using the model list (models.csv) of the original Armageddon. These work fine with AoD although some, like the heavy subs are missing. The numbers for those subs are 28_7 and 28_8.
Has anybody checked the leader and minister pictures yet? I made a quick comparison with some countries and couldn't find any bigger problems so I believe they still have the same numbering as in Armageddon. I have collected better pictures of the leaders and would like to use them instead of the original Paradox ones.
EDIT: Had a second look and noticed that leader and minister files are renamed for some countries. At least Germany has totally different naming than before.

Yay!!!!!Well, Scytth got involved in other projects long time ago. I was caught by real work for good. But I'll try AoD for sure (and it better be good and bugfree), so who knows... Maybe it'll make me waste my free time for icons again. Damn, even writing down this reply I made one sample
Anyway, old icons - as I understand - will work in AoD without problems. And if only ones i.e. for siege artillery are missing it's not a big deal (but are you sure heavy artillery will need an icon, I mean, it will be division or brigade?).
