SKIF - icons for HoI2 & DD

hey Kistoff, would it be too much to ask for icons for the Abyss Nations ?
maybe use some of the same or modified icons from the historic nations ?

i dont know if its possible since they may use a generic icon.

Come on guys, it's not that hard to make *othercountry* icons which are just basic skif ones with diffrent flag. It just takes A LOT of patience . Just take some flag picture, resize it (like in paint), copy it on the icon and place it over the defalout flag. Voila! Your "personalized" skif .

These date from back in 2007, but it does not look like the French navy icons have been changed in the meantime.

I couldn't wait for 'more modern' icons for Poland so I have prepared some for my CORE improvement pack.

Hardly the best work - my abilities are rather poor - but I thought I will show some images.

from left to right

PZL 38 Wilk, PZL 62

PZL P.11 (unmarked now, might be doing fine for PZL P.7a), PZL 11g Kobuz,

RWD 25 (twice), PZL 50B Jastrząb, PZL 53 Jastrząb II, PZL 62

PZL 23B Karaś, PZL Łosoś (poorly made, but only one image could be found - using Swiss C-3603),

PZL 37B Łoś - 3 icons, something could be useful for PZL 49 Miś or even more advanced plane,

This is PWS 46 (project) light bomber/CAS.

I wonder if there is anything useful enough to make an icon for this airplane - Twin Mustang is much different unfortunatelly...

TAC - DO 17K


Slovak and Lithuanian should be easy to recognise. Gladiator made using SKIFF original.

I am using book covers, computer graphics (those are the best actually) and all other pictures.

I am trying to make new icons whenever possible - so without SKIFF recycling. It is enough I am hijacking their spacew for my own, horrible plans.




P.S. Mylae made some great icons for me using the pictures I've found - Siam for example.
I will of course add these icons to my little set.

I wonder if there is a chance to make some unit icons for Austria? I find it pretty disturbing when I play Kaiserreich and all surrounding nations have specific icons but Austria has generic ones. I understand that icon sets were probably made for purpose of vanilla game where Austria is not playing very important role since it is anexed by Germany, but in mods like Kaiserreich Austria is regional power and should have something specific.

I'm not demanding anything, just some suggestions if you are going to make any new icon sets.

I had some delays and currently adding finishing touches to the pack which is much, much bigger project than I initially expected.

I also made some new icons - they are prepared for CORE so could be used in vanilla only with some adjusting.
Airplane models are set to represent the models in the mod, so could look rather odd in normal games.
