I come from a 3D modelling world, and playing Cities Skyline, which is an awesome game, I think, I have a couple of ideas to improve the building of streets in the game:
1. The image shows the view cube, used on most of the 3D modelling softwares as AutoCad, Fusion, etc. Is incredible effective at the moment, when the costumer wants a quick top/left/right/isometric view, spare time and is functional.

2. Simple vector tools as "Drawing a square/circle/triangle/ n-number of polygons can improve a lot the street constructions. I know that some of the mentioned shapes doesn't exist actually on the street, but how says that is impossible to have fun and discover new ways to build street with this?
3. Angles and Measurements: God, this is necessary in to many ways. The option to choose an specific construction angle and a fix measurement could be awesome. I now that the help guides from the game are good, and make the job. But more customisation ( I don't know if there is a mod for this) could bring the game to a new level.
4. Guide lines: sometimes I start my city planning from scratch how it should look like in the fate. and for that could be really could to hace an option of "permanent guide lines" on the street section.
