I totally agree with SunZyl on this one.. Another thing, what's with the "Lappmark" provinces? Wouldn't Piteå, Luleå, Torneå etc. be better? Or am I wrong..?

no, they are good both of them! Malmö will also be used.

But the names of regions are better like it is now, so we can have rebels also!

I can change Skåne to söderslätt, thats the original word! I found it now!

Madness... What would this help with revolters? And if it's a modern day scenario, Skåne is much better. As it is the nowaday name and it will net much more recognizing.

I've never heard "Västra Skåne" and I've lived in Skåne since I was two.

I'm not really sure here, Eslöv or Lund in Östra Skåne? Lund is actually far too important to ignore, but it isn't located in Östra Skåne.

They have two official languages, so maybe we also could add Samiska on northern provinces!

Finland have 1.region 2. finnish 3.swedish so they will also us three!

First of all we have to decide whether to use both regional and town name on the shading.. Secondly my policy is to only use official languages in the naming. This only applies to a few provinces, I will explain below.


NORWAY:

There are two "minority languages" in Norway, Sámi and Kven (Finnish dialect)

Sámi language is only official language in 7 kommuner in Norway;

North Sámi: Karasjok (Kárášjohka), Kautokeino (Guovdageaidnu), Nesseby (Unjárgga), Porsanger (Porsáŋgu), Tana (Deatnu), Kåfjord (Gáivuotna)
Lulesámi: Tysfjord (Divtasvuotna)

Kven language is only official language in 1 kommune in Norway; Porsanger (Porsanki)

In Norway, my naming policy would therefore look like this;

Karasjok / Kárášjohka
Kautokeino / Guovdageaidnu
Nesseby / Unjárgga
Tana / Deatnu
Kåfjord / Gáivuotna
Tysfjord / Divtasvuotna
Porsanger / Porsáŋgu / Porsanki


SWEDEN:

In Sweden, the minority languages (Sámi and Meän kieli (Tornedal finnish)) is not in use in any official fashion, so no double naming is to be used.

FINLAND:

In Finland, the Sámi language is official in four municipalities, Enontekiö (Eanodat), Utsjoki (Ohcejohka), Inari (Anár) and Sodankylä (Soađegilli). The double naming will apply for these provinces.

In Finland, the Swedish language is much used. Double naming will ONLY be used in bilingual provinces, meaning provinces where there is a relative equality in the number of speakers. This means that provinces where Swedish is the near sole language used, only the Swedish name will be used! Examples are (listed in majority language first, letter in parenthes is the main language):

Jakobstad/Pietarsaari (S)
Kaskinen/Kaskö (F)
Ekenäs/Tammisaari (S)
Vaasa/Vasa (F)

Russia, the Baltics, Iceland, and the Faroes will not use two names, as no such exists. Haven't decided on Greenland and Scotland yet, but it seems like I'll use local names in Greenland and English in Scotland.
