I hate Auvergne. I took their only province, but they controlled a province of Provence's that I couldn't do anything about (and there was no white peace after what seemed like five years of inaction). So I finally had to pay them 25d for the privilege of giving them their capital back (I was only at +4%)!

Controlling a province counts as hostile action so no White peace ever, under those circumstances. You sometimes see the AI in wars for 100years or more because of this.

Speaking of computer AI in wars. Ever get, accidently of course, involved in a war with a large alliance arrayed against you? It seems to me that whenever this happens, if I go and take the leaders capital, the rest immediately sue for a neutral piece. Even if all I have left is a small army that just took the capital and the enemy has troops sieging all of my provinces!!

Was curious if this is consistant with other's findings or not. Especialy when Rome is fighting the Turks. Enjoy!

Well if you control the AI leaders capital you should be able to get a peace deal from him, unless the war score is really out of wack, And if you do you get peace with all the others anyway. But I have not noticed this particular deluge of peace proposals after taking the capital. Although it may be a matter of the leader being the Big member of the Alliance or a small (protectorate) member.
