This has happened to me three times now.

After spending hours building a city, occasionally giant sinkholes will appear randomly in the city. These holes contain underground roads that practically go through the city and destroy it.

Anyone have a similar problem?

Yes, getting the same problem on several saves. Not using any road or traffic mods.

How many Cims do you guys have and what are the specs of your PCs? It might be that you are simply running out of RAM/VRAM. Maybe a simple update of the GPU driver might help.

Even if it runs out, this shouldnt happen.

Especially a road being in the sinkhole makes it kinda.. scary...

Just under 70k. Have an AMD 8370, 8GB DDR3 1600, GTX460 1GB, 120GB SSD (boot), 4x 1TB HDDs (Steam drive has nearly 200GB free, swap file is on separate 64GB partition on another drive), running Win10 10049, Geforce 347.88 drivers. GPU is OC to 825MHz core, 2000MHz RAM, but restoring clocks to default 765/1900 makes no difference.

You might be right on the VRAM thing, PrecisionX shows I'm hitting a max of 1014MB out of 1024MB available.

Which map are you playing when this was happening?

Maybe the region around LA respectively the west coast was the model the DEVs choose for it. These regions have known problems with plate tectonics.

See the Description:

It seems that the simulation is a little bit to realistic in this point…
