I'm really loving the way this game looks so far, however I'm wondering if there is any sort of single player skirmish mode vs. the AI Or is the main campaign the only game play option there is?

If not is there any plans to add one in the future? (As DLC perhaps?)

Without a skirmish mode or some kind of random mission generator, after the campaign has been finished a time or two I'm not sure I see a whole lot of replay value to the game compared to Home world and other similar space RTs's where the skirmish mode has me still playing months after initial purchase.

The game has three skirmish maps, each with its own "game mode", offering different challenges against the AI. We knew folks would want to learn the ropes beyond the tutorial (or just blast away) so they could "properly" tackle the campaign (which does have a difficulty though, so you're not thrown into the deep end right away).

The game wasn't really built with endless replay in mind. It's a focused experience with very high production values. It's akin to an "event movie" if it were a film. But we knew that we had to have some levels in there that are not a part of the campaign, even if it only costs around twenty bucks, so there you go!
