As it stands, Sikhism doesn't really have mechanics. It has some pretty powerful modifiers in the guru event chain and it unlocks some unique government forms, but those aren't mechanics, they're things that happen to you.
Proposed Sikh mechanics to replace the Guru modifiers:
First of all, Sikhs get a center of reformation, which has a high strength but a limited range. As it currently stands, it's unusual to see a substantial number of Sikh provinces in a localized area, as happened historically in the Punjab.
Sikh nations get a Militarization of the Faith bar which is shared by all Sikh nations and is increased by fighting battles, by being the targets of declarations of war by non-Sikhs, by losing provinces in peace deals, and when Sikh provinces are converted. It's decreased by taking provinces. So the more Sikhs are attacked and persecuted, the more Sikhs have to militarize to defend themselves. This makes it kind of difficult to acquire and maintain high Militrization of Faith, justifying the strong bonuses given. The Militarization of Faith gives +20% morale and +20% fort defense at 100%, as well as a 5% discipline bonus to Khalsa regiments. Sikhs also get an estate, the Khalsa (here referring to the Sikh holy order, although the term 'Khalsa' has a pretty wide range of uses in Sikhism), that replaces the Rajputs or Marathas. Land given to the Khalsa allows for the recruitment of Khalsa regiments, which get a scaling +5% discipline modifier based on the Militarization of Faith. The Khalsa gives -0.3%, -0.6%, -0.9%, and -1.2% army tradition decay depending on influence and +2.5%, 5%, and 7.5%, and 10% infantry combat ability depending on influence when above 60% loyalty. Khalsa estate privileges:
In addition, the Misl Confederacy should be a Republic government form, and the Strength of the Khalsa government reform's +5% morale is replaced with +10% Khalsa loyalty.
I know this is - as is my tendency - a lot, but hopefully it's at least interesting.
Thoughts?
