We need a new China. Apply below.

I understand that I'm not a veteran player, so I will likely not be picked, but I would be interested as joining as the People's Republic. China is a very interesting country during this time period, as it is a communist nation that is nearly, if not entirely, free of soviet influence. Between the large population, land, and ability to grow, it stands able to become a world power. At the same time, the very nationalism which strengthened it now holds it back, as seen in the Cultural Revolution and its xenophobic policies. Plus with the Cold War breaking out around them, China would be a gem to play.

China was always my first pick, so as Dadarian is no longer playing why not. It is an utterly fascinating country with a rich history, both in past, present and TTL future (Unless I get absolutely smashed by something that is). It has by now only recently been taken over by Mao and his clique, while in its first few years pouring massive amounts of resources into the Korean War which has only served to hamper Chinese reconstruction following decades of war. With Stalin now gone there is no guarantee that it goes OTL and the split shall occur, it may very well go entirely different TTL as it often does in these games and provide a completely different outcome not only in the region but the world as a whole. Of course there are also the great social movements occuring at this time in China, as well as great economic reforms (Great being debatable considering their effects on the country and the lives of those within, but bear with me.) It is an utterly interesting nation, led by an interesting man with many exciting outcomes and chances over the next many decades of the game.

I'd be really interested in playing China. Mao is utterly fascinating and thanks to him, China began to modernize in every aspect of it's society for the first time in modern history. I really enjoy Chinese history, so I would probably enjoy every second of playing as this country. With so many possibilities, in terms of policy both foreign and domestic, I'd love the chance to play as China.

Maxwell is the new China

BE ADVISED

Italy is open as a Tier 3 (2 order) nation.

Italy would be an interesting country to play as, especially considering the time period. Standing on the Cold War's front line, a large Communist Party stands ready to cause trouble in Italy's contentious politics. Italy also struggles to reconstruct after the Second World War, having suffered much from the fighting. Between the unstable politics and reconstruction, Italy offers much to do in early, and likely later, years.
