1) The kingdom of Naples and The kingdom of Sicily.
Two radically different nations with only one thing to combine them, their rather incompetent monarch. It is widely believed that Ferdinand was the architect of the downfall of the state, and the person who let the Northern Italian states catch up, through economic mismanagement and just a general reluctance to take control from his wife. However one thing that nobody can deny was that the immense building projects that were undertook were spectacular. Featuring the largest palace in the world, a hospital with 5000 beds, an entire village devoted to making silk to this day that village still does.
However this all came to nothing, as while Naples was immense, the city itself was one of the largest in the world, it had no industries leaving it with a decline in trade from 10:1 to 5:6 in Exporting to importing.

Frymonmon suggested to me that in order to allow more people to participate I should reduce the number of orders less important countries get. I like this idea - more players means more IC, more interactions, and ultimately a more fun game. To keep the workload manageable I will reduce the number of non-Great Power orders.

The Travancore Problem
The Raja of Travancore, a British lackey, has grown complacent and foolishly believes being a British servant enables him to defy his betters. He has tried to fund dissent in the Sultan's domains, given shelter to traitors and rebels and taken advantage of Dutch greed to seize control of forts in the Sultan's territory. The Tiger of Mysore is a man of peace yet he it is his duty to protect his subjects, including the vassal kingdom of Cochin, and his hand has been forced as such blatant aggression cannot go unchecked. As time goes by the cowardly Raja is growing stronger and for the sake of peace Tipu Sultan will have to intervene, restore the rightful ownership of the forts of Cranganore and Pallipuram to Cochin and chastise the so-called Dharma Raja. Should the East India Company refuse to acknowledge that such an intervention would only be justice, Tipu Sultan knows he can count on his distant French friends to counter British assistance to Travancore.
