Siege window decreases game performance

The game's running okay and nothing is out of the ordinary. Until the moment my units are sieging a province. Whenever I click on either my units or the province I am sieging to see its progress, my frame-rate drops from a smooth one to about 10FPS. The moment I close the window the frame-rate shoots up again. Is anybody else experiencing this? Hoe can such such a simple window have so much impact on the game's performance?

Please post a DxDiag of your system.

• Open your Start menu
• Type "dxdiag" in the search field (without quotes).
• Open the dxdiag program.
• A window called "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" should pop up now.
• At the bottom right-hand side, click on "Save all information".
• Save it to a place where you can find it easily, for example your desktop.
• Open the file and copy and paste the text between [NOPARSE]
  [/NOPARSE] tags.

Heh, I'm afraid that won't work because I'm on Linux
My system should be capable of running the game though, and it's only at this window where the performance hit is big, the rest works fine.

Aha, ye dxdiag on windows wont work

• Open Steam.
• In the top menu go to "Help".
• Click on "System Information" and wait until the report has been generated.
• Copy the entire text and paste it between [NOPARSE]
  [/NOPARSE] tags, you can remove everything below "installed software".

There's a patch incoming that should solve some gfx and lag issues, please check when the update lands if that resolved the problem and report back if you are still having these issues.
