Although there's one thing I'm kind of concerned about: It's about Russia with a twist in the foreign arena (that's all I'll say for now), but some doubtlessly feel by now that KR Russia is kind of overdone as far as AARs are concerned. And I want you guys' input on this: Should I go through with this soon, or should I hold off until Russia as a topic for KR AARs dies down a bit?

Maybe do a Russia-Soviet Russia KR AAR, haven't seen one of those here.

Also I weep every time the US is balkanized :(

May I suggest a Combined Syndicates of America AAR? Play through the Second Civil War and lead a Radical Socialist/Syndicalist U.S against the Capitalists in the Entente, Europa, and maybe even the Totalist faction of the Left in the pre-endgame? Would be interesting to see a much more interventionist CSA involved in World-wide affairs.

Allow us to vote in it too! :)

I need more Syndicalism in my america.

Interesting suggestions to be sure, but ever since I installed the new patch, I've been having problems with game crashing upon releasing puppets. And my playstyle as any Germany involves a lot of puppets.
So its either Russia in the near future or nothing

Why don't you depatch?

A couple of reasons: I overwrite the files for the old versions whenever I install the latest patch and I don't feel like spending hours micromanaging all of these files.

Mod Vladimir Makarov into Russia!

Thanks for doing this AAR, the journey has been fantastic.:)

Well well, another AAR completed. Truth be told, I'm actually happier with how this one came out than the last one for no other reason than the fact that I learned to use a proper image capturing program. A note to potential entrants to AARland: The built-in image capture feature for DH DOES NOT capture newspaper events. If I had known this earlier, it would have saved me a lot of frustration.

Well on to business: My German Empire Mega-AAR has run into a bit of a snag. Actually, it's a pretty big snag, seeing that this version doesn't seem to be compatible with the new patch. But never fear! I have another one to tide my audience over until my AAR extravaganza!

Hey well done on this AAR!!! Its really been a joy to read (I only joined a week ago).

Regarding the Russia AAR, I reckon it's a bit overkilled as a topic, especially as a KR AAR. But it could be interesting, looking forward to it mate! :)

That is completely out of character for Chichibu-no-miya.

Well, if you take into account the theory (one which makes a lot of sense to me) that he was in contact with the coup plotters of 36....

What I want to see is a 'realistic' White Russia AAR.

Go with as chaotic a democracy as possible. How's THIS for a Russia AAR:
After Kerensky, pick the "Aristocrats in the senate elect Grand Duke Dimitri"... but DON'T try to restore the monarchy. Play Russia as insanely isolationist, caught up in internal power-struggles, and downright. Self-destructive.
Purge your army at the least opportune time.
Decide that both Central Planning AND Free Market are too radical for you.
Don't move troops around or redeploy them in any way unless partisans or war FORCES you to do so.
You can spend lots of IC on consumer goods (good shopping in St. Petersburg)... but not reinforcements or upgrades (until war).
Select Felix Yusupov, the dilettantish center of the St. Petersburg social scene as your prime minister...
Brutishly overrun your enemies with straight-forward infantry assaults, taking horrendous casualties, and refuse to dedicate overly much to modern units.
Try to survive the Soviet revolt & ensuing chaos despite picking the WORST possible event choices at every opportunity.

Write the entire thing from the perspective of a brilliant behind-the-scenes aristocratic woman (cousin of Dimitri) with out-sized influence that's smart enough to foil Dimitri's monarchial ambitions (just going to get family members killed, the dolt) and refuses to reinstate Okrhana (parties are SO dull when everyone fears secret police) or turn to the Orthodox church (pheh, smelly old men with no style and no idea a smart woman can exist) but is totally blind when it comes to a semi-isolationist aristocratic-centered foreign policy - less so domestic policy, where no new factories can be built, but infrastructure (corrupt profiteering) and consumer goods (finery) can be produced.

Write THAT Russia AAR, and watch teh accolades roll in.

Woo! That was a damn fine AAR. I love playing KR Japan, but I have never gone past about 1944, but this has inspired me to go all the way next time.

Part of me wishes you had decided to take down the German Goliath with Mongolian Armored Cavalry with the Japanese mech forces poruing down the steppe, with heavenly thunderbolts of nuclear fire clearing the way, the most gargantuan naval clashes you'll ever see between the combined navies of both sides. But that would require tedious management and I really like this world where the two major power blocks get along and cultivate an atmosphere where the human race can build towards a better future.

Chichibu-no-miya supported breaking the power of the conservatives who were driving the nation towards war, but he was not an active member of any coup movements. At most he was friends with the coup ring leaders and knew what they were doing, but did not betray them.
