Humiliated by the defeat at the hands of a non-western power a'la Russia in 1904-05 and facing massive dissent at home, British President Oswald Mosley was desperate for a quick solution to rally the people around him and prevent a complete breakdown of his regime. Still in possession of a considerable fleet and army, Mosley knew the perfect scapegoat, London's partner in the "Peace with Honor". However, when the declaration of war came this time, the Germans were ready for them and a massive sea battle with what remained of the Republican Navy. The results were predictable:

Sn_M_92.png

Sn_M_93.png

As for the Empire of the Sun, the Emperor and High Command had finally decided that it was time to purge Syndicalism from Asia once and for all, starting with a rather troublesome neighbor:

Sn_M_94.png

Sn_M_95.png

The Filipino defenses at Baguio were pathetic: Poorly armed, trained and equipped and with a mere one division manning the defenses, it was not long before the inevitable occurred before the combined might of the army and navy:

Sn_M_96.png

Meanwhile, on the southern island of Mindanao, there was an almost simultaneous landing of imperial forces, supported by Muslim partisans incensed at the red regime:

Sn_M_97.png

Sn_M_98.png

Even at this early stage, the regime in Manilla was absolutely terrified: The news of the Japanese approach and probable collapse of the red state led to massive protests and outright uprisings throughout the country. Desperate to end the war and free up troops to maintain public order, the reds tried to grant the empire a number of concessions in exchange for their regime remaining intact. The Foreign Office however, under direct orders from the Emperor, was hearing nothing of it.

Sn_M_99.png

After a mere two months of fighting, the situation for Manilla had become completely untenable, but for some reason, even under constant IJA bombardment and partisan attacks from their own people, continued to resist for a little more than a month and a half:

Sn_M_100.png

Despite some calls to integrate the islands a'la Korea, His Majesty realized it far easier to attempt to win Filipino hearts and minds with the added benefits of more research teams working towards the benefit of the Co-Prosperity Sphere as a whole:

Don't worry: Prince Chichibu and the Kōdōha have been decisively dealt with, eliminating the possibility of such a scenario.
Although at this point I COULD attack the US and have a pretty good chance of defeating them.

Were those custom made events? 'Cause i've never seen them before.

No, they're just uncommon events: I modified the probability of certain events firing in the event files.

So many puppets! Is there a reason you aren't opting for direct occupation?

Too big an area to control. I prefer to keep my troops freed up for combat duty as opposed to garrisoning large swaths of territory.

Ooooh.... I doubt the Americans can stomach this.

That's kinda the point (eventually).

So, we're going to see Brazilian forces aiding the Japanese strategic goals?

Yep. Those Bolivian reds and Venezuelan pinkos have lasted just a bit too long for my taste.

With the Philippines now a loyal member of the Co-Prosperity Sphere, Daihon'ei realized that it was finally time to remove the relatively minor powers from Asia. The first of such opportunities presented itself almost immediately: Achmed Sukarno, the leader of the Indonesian nationalist movement, was granted an imperial audience. Sukarno requested that His Majesty pressure the Dutch (now no longer under German protection) to give up their hold on Indonesia. In exchange, Indonesia was to become the latest member of the Co-Prosperity Sphere. Seeing relatively little risk in such a venture, the Emperor ordered a naval task force to the region in order to get the point across to the Dutch:

Sn_M_102.png

Unable to prosecute a war half way across the world with its miniscule industrial capacity, the Dutch government recognized the futility of the situation and ceded the territory. Of course, the imperial promise to Sukarno was honored immediately:

Sn_M_103.png

Meanwhile, in India, the Bharitya Commune had succeeded in uniting the subcontinent under their red banner: With a massive pool of manpower and a sizable industrial capacity, red India was the only true rival to the empire in Asia for the time being: One that had to be destroyed.

Sn_M_105.png

Sn_M_106.png

Shortly afterwards, the rouge state of Hawaii, seeking protection from American revanchism, agreed to become an imperial protectorate.

the Prosperity sphere is growing! :D the only ''real'' obstacle is now red India...the reds stand no chance against the Imperial navy or Army.

By the first of January 1948, His Majesty and the planners in Daihon'ei came to the realization that only two Asian targets remained in imperial crosshairs, both with their own rewards and challenges:

Sn_M_107.png

Of course, the biggest threat was the red government of India, still going by the moniker of the Bharitya Commune. It went without saying that the varied terrain and massive army Calcutta would be able to field would be the biggest obstacles. However, India was not known as the crown jewel of the British Empire for no reason: Its wealth in manpower and natural resources under Japanese control would make the Empire of the Sun unstoppable in Asia.

Sn_M_108.png

Siberia was probably equally as rich in metal and rare materials, if not more so than India, with a considerably sparser population to draw upon to defend it. However the poor terrain and almost nonexistent infrastructure would be troublesome to say the least. Despite their complete naval superiority, Siberia was just a little too close to the Home Islands for the comfort of the Emperor and his staff...

Sn_M_109.png

Desiring to secure the empire's northern flank (in addition to constant badgering by Ulaanbaatar), His Majesty signed off on the order to begin offensive operations against the rouge Siberian state, the IJA forces attacking from Manchuria and the former Transamur.

Sn_M_110.png

Of course, it was not surprising that some commanders were becoming somewhat impatient (to say the least) by the well-entrenched Siberian positions.

Sn_M_111.png

Their feared cavalry outfitted with the latest equipment and covered by Japanese air power, the Mongolians pushed north and west in earnest. However, the woods around Novosibirsk had impeded severely the effectiveness of the Mongolian advance towards the Siberian capital. In concert with their already well-entrenched positions, the Mongolian offensive in the west seemed to have stalled by this point. Dismayed by the haste of their ally, the Emperor ordered a mechanized army under the command of General Kenji Doihara to relive the Mongolian forces and reinvigorate the offensive.

Sn_M_112.png

While the army won a series of smashing victories on the Pacific coast, altogether, the war passed slowly due to the poor infrastructure and terrain, the lines becoming relatively static by month five of the fighting.

Sn_M_113.png

Finally by July, things seemed to be looking up: General Doihara's mechanized army had reached the Mongolian lines and had begun the assault on the Siberian capital of Novosibirsk. In addition, the IJA had finally succeeded in driving the Siberians from the ocean, seizing the entirety of the Pacific coast and Kamchatka.

However despite these victories, the Siberians continued the fight for another three months before finally recognizing the futility of the situation that they were in:

Sn_M_114.png

Now, with the Siberians defeated and the Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere reaching the very border with Europe, the time finally came, for the sake of peace in the Orient, to remove the red menace once and for all....

All throughout the winter of 1948-49, instructions came to the Burmese via Daihon'ei to bolster defenses in their border regions. At noon on February 25th, 1949, the reason for this became clear:

Sn_M_115.png

Immediately, the Indian garrisons in the area began to assault Burmese border defenses. While Burmese troops fought bravely, the Indians, exactly as High Command had feared, were using their overwhelming numbers to attempt a breakthrough. The only way the situation would be salvageable would be the use of tactical nuclear weapons against Indian forces in the area while Japanese troops arrived to reinforce the Burmese lines.

Meanwhile, Grand Admiral Yamamoto came to His Majesty and High Command with a daring proposal: That a combined army-navy task force would make an amphibious landing at the nearby capital of Calcutta. In addition to a massive loss of face and source of panic for the red regime, the Calcutta area could also be used as a beachhead to encircle the massive Indian force in Bengal. Unwilling for many reasons to wage a protracted war on the Indian subcontinent, His Majesty, against the urging of Chief of Staff Araki, signed off on the plan:

Sn_M_116.png

By April, Yamamoto's gambit seemed to be paying off: The Indian forces, caught entirely off guard by the mass of Japanese troops to their rear, saw their lines become increasingly less cohesive. The red government nonetheless, ordered their forces to hold their positions to the last man:

Sn_M_117.png

Meanwhile, the Japanese mechanized forces were performing excellently, wreaking havoc upon both the Indian forces and their lines in Burma: In particular, General Tadamichi Kuryibayashi and his troops gained the moniker "the Tigers of Bengal" due to their legendarily ferocious performance against the Indian forces:

Sn_M_118.png

Sn_M_119.png

By late May, the Bengal pocket had been closed: Droves of demoralized, disorganized Indian troops surrendered to imperial forces en mass: It was truly the beginning of the end for red India.

With more mechanized reinforcements arriving monthly, the plains of India became little more than an imperial firing range, the reds having amassed most of their troops in Bengal. What few truly organized units they had remaining were pulled back into the mountains of the north and west in vain attempts to defend the major cities of Delhi and Lahore:

Sn_M_120.png

But by September of that year, the defense of Delhi proved futile as well, with some of the finest, most battle-hardened men of the Imperial Japanese Army bearing down on their position. It would not be long now:

Sn_M_121.png

With the stragglers in the northwest and south isolated and crushed, the Indian reds accepted the inevitable and ordered any still-functional unit to lay down their arms and surrender to imperial forces:

Sn_M_122.png

When the time came for the partitioning of India, the imperial cabinet was divided nearly down the middle: One half wanted a united Indian subcontinent to make full use of the Indian industrial power and manpower pool. However, the other half became concerned that a united India would eventually be embroiled in Hindu-Muslim tensions (or outright civil war) and no use to anyone. His Majesty, sided with the latter:

Author's note

Well, here we are: The Empire of Japan is the (almost) undisputed master of Asia. The Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere is probably the mightiest bloc in the world save for Mittleuropa. But where to go from here?....

I know some people earlier were saying I should attack the German colonies in Asia, but that general amnesty given to the American reds and CSA alumni could eventually prove troublesome for the Empire of the Sun... What to do?....

Wait. If the empire begun to war with Germany, their puppet Russia also war. Right?
That's rather overwhelmed for the empire, at least now.

I propose invades the USA first, then German and Russia last.

I liked your last AAR; this one rocks too. Such a shame about the lack of a one-world nation though. I want to see the future of your America-only world.

Pt. 2: For the sake of peace in the Occident

Hirohito_in_dress_uniform.jpg

On the fourth of August, 1950, His Majesty the Emperor, in full military regalia, called an emergency meeting of his cabinet to discuss the future of the empire and the Co-Prosperity Sphere as a whole.

Domestically, the empire was doing exceptionally well, the recent integration of Manchuria (the process of finding a suitable Japanese noble to rule as the Manchu king had already begun) ensuring that the empire would never again hunger for mineral wealth. With the wars concluded, the promise of the Co-Prosperity Sphere was delivered upon, with the empire's allies seeing massive investments in their industry and economies as a whole from the Home Islands.

However, there were dark storm clouds on the horizon. Ones which could potentially bring all the blood and treasure spilled for this prosperity to naught:

Kempetai units, officially guarding the embassies in North America, had come out with several disturbing reports as of late regarding the American political scene: It seemed as if American syndicalists, both old hands from the CSA days and a new generation, had begun a gradual program to subvert and eventually take control of the United States government, aided by some of the more radical social democrats already in the government. While all three branches of government remained still and elections (for now) proceeded as normal, and the Constitution remained (for now) in effect, this cadre of subversives had already succeeded in some of their aims.

Understandably, His Majesty was alarmed by these developments and ordered a contingency plan for the empire's greatest, most feared enemy: A red United States of America.
But how to go about it, thought the cabinet and planners in High Command? Despite the loss of California and Arizona to red Mexico, American military might easily equaled or surpassed that of the empire, to say nothing of their potential wartime industrial capacity. With the mention of Mexico, a plan began to formulate in Foreign Minister Konoe's head: During their recent civil war, the Americans had formally renounced their longstanding policy, the so-called Monroe Doctrine, of defending the Americas from any outside attack. From this Konoe reasoned, the empire could gradually (in concert with the Brazilian Empire in South America) destroy syndicalism in Latin America and deny Washington a potential sphere of influence.

A risky proposition to be sure: By some in High Command, it was dismissed as the ramblings of a half-senile aging man. However, the Emperor signed off on the plan, stating that the empire needed to strike while its position was still strong in North America. At His Majesty's word, the orders were given out: The troops in Alaska were to be put on high alert and the Combined Fleet was sent to North America. After nearly a year of preparation, in April of 1951, the liberation of Latin America from the red yoke officially began....
