Most economic things in EOS are based on "per week". Yet, there doesn't seem to be a way to tell which day of the week it is today (or how many days remain in the current week).

Assuming that you get your income every Monday, I'd suggest to display the current day of the week in the date display (e.g. "Mon, November 29, 1920").

+1 this would actually be useful in this game. I too find myself wondering where the week hits and it's never when you would expect it.
