Shouldn't democratic countries have better economies?

They can and they do. I just played a game the other day as Manchukuo where Germany conquered the USSR completely, then started a very successful naval invasion of the UK. I ran into a bug with the Japanese surrender that ruined my game, so I don't recall whether I kept playing long enough for the UK to capitulate, but it was only a matter of time.

Wow, thats pretty rare...

Why should the axis and Comitern be able to challenge the RN on the naval front? The Submarine blockade on the UK was less effective than people think it was, and the RN blockade on Germany caused the axis far more harm than the Subs did to the UK.

My point was, in all time-lapses I watched on youtube and games I played, no matter if historical AI on or off, the outcome is always the same - Allies victory, does not matter if It's allies vs Axis or vs commitern or vs both at the same time.

i agree there should be a buff to different government types but not that democratic is necessarily better overall. I think each should have their own bonuses and negatives. Such as democracies maybe have more consumer goods yet better stability, communist have less consumer goods yet less stability, fascist could have better military factory build speed yet less civilian factory speed (those are just some examples i don’t think they should put those bonuses specifically just i think they should put some bonuses/needs depending on government type.)

Your comment is possibly the most sensible one I've seen in this thread :) Cheers!

Your “exported” resources are wasted even when nobody buys them. So in essence, you give up something but don’t get anything in return.

You mean nothing in return besides the boost to factory output, construction speed, and research.

There's a reason a significant number of players in MP go free trade, even if they are importing stuff they normally produce or not getting factories for extra resources they put on the market. It's a delicate balancing act, but yields dividends when used properly.
