Shouldn't Byzantium have more cores?

to whole byzantium lovers:

"The Fall of Philadelphia marked the fall of the last independent Christian Greek settlement in western Asia Minor to the Muslim Turks of the Ottoman Sultanate. Ironically, the besieging army included a contingent from the Byzantine Empire, which was a vassal of the Ottomans."

this is the glory of your byzantium.

The Byzantines had a saying for this, as did the Dutch.

"Rather the Sultan's turban than the Cardinal's hat."

Do explain, because Smyrna was majority Greek until the 1920s. Byzantium should have cores on Nikaea, Nikomedia, Smyrna, Sinope (Trebizond also) Bithynia, Trebizond, Theodoro, Kaffa, Kerch (Trebizond should also have cores on these three, because they ruled the Perateia), Rhodes, Crete, Cyprus, Chios, Naxos, and Corfu. All of these areas were Greek speaking for quite a while, it doesn't make sense for Byzantium to have less and less cores per patch.

Yes, Byzantium was broken by 1444, but there are harder starts in the game that haven't been nerfed like Byzantium has. We got Zoroastrianism even though it dies with in a few decades, yet Byzantium is still portrayed ahistorically. All you have to do to stop Byzantium from rising after it has died is give its cores to Greece. It usually dies within a few decades if you start in 1444, but it should still be possible to bring it back to its pre-1204 borders without having to cheat cores to yourself.

What is your point meant to be, because that's basically nothing when you consider that Byzantium survived 80 more years.
