should trade companies be semi-independent like CN?

Should trade companies be semi-independent like CN?

Trade companies can't sent merchanets (only metropoly can)
trade companies can't build ships.
trade companies gives 100% their trade power to metropoly. tax, production and manpower for trade company.
u can make a country in african and asian charters a part of trade company by war or diplo action. all their trade power goes to you. this country can't build ships and sent merchants and they take military tech reduce cost bonus.
and ofc additional merchant and naval limit for metropoly

I wanted to create the EIC in india but was able to :(

Mhm. There should be an option to give authority to Trade Companies, allow them complete control of their specific region. That authority should either heighten with the company's growth and success, or decline if the company is failing militarily and financially.

exacly. I would like to build an empire, managment it in someway. there should be possibily that CAN lose your global empire if you do sth wrong. i have nice fun with CN, client states, marches and vassals. having control on every province, every move, every aspect of the game is boring.

I think it would be cool if the game gave me the power to decide. Perhaps forming an almost independent CN is better in some situations, while forming a semi-independent trade company is better in some, while direct control is perhaps good in some cases. All options would have pros and cons to make the choises somewhat meaningful. I also want total power in whick provinces I allocate to CN:s, just like with trade companies! GRR!

Well, actually I think the semi-independent nature of CNs make the game more interesting and unpredictable, kind of like what vassals do in CK2.

Also they mess everything up (such as what to build) and also aren't locked to their regions and other things. Hardly any control as a colonial "overlord".

But trade companies should be more like CNs yes. But still different.
