I've been playing this game for a while now and there is one major thing that bugs the hell out of me every time I play, especially when I can b**** about it with my friends in MP. As a hardcore fan of Sci-Fi I feel as if the way this game handles food production and usage is pretty lame. You mean to tell me that even though I can use Wormholes, you know holes in the space-time continuum, but I can't share food between planets? What's it do spoil in FTL? Any ways I guess I can understand it as a game balancing issue, except for the fact that I know some other 4X games that share your food production among planets, cities, etc. It feels immersion breaking for me when I've got a planet starving for whatever reason and within a single jump (I usually use wormholes) I have at least 3-4 planets with extra food just going to waste. The main reason I'd like to see the way food is handled changed, is because its much more likely that some planets are pure crap at producing any sort of food but its got wonderful amounts of liquid metal floating on the surface. Or perhaps a planet has no actual metal resource value, but has very good minerals for mass farming. Actually now that I think about it, maybe the devs did it this way to make the game simpler. Personally I think the game is way to simple as it is and could use some complication like should this planet focus on food production or energy, what are my empire's current needs? It would also make some planets more important targets during a war, no farming worlds no fighters, no minerals no ships. Anyways I could probably continue going on and on but I'm sure most of you get the point. Anyone agree with me? Anyone think I'm insane? What's your thoughts?
