Pretty much as the title says - it's truly annoying when you declare a war on a guy and in a few months he makes three new allies and all of the sudden you find yourself on the short end of the stick. What do you guys think?

What kind of war were you dealing with? Because the AI has always done that in holy wars.Pretty much as the title says - it's truly annoying when you declare a war on a guy and in a few months he makes three new allies and all of the sudden you find yourself on the short end of the stick. If they'd make it the way they did in EU4, then no, thank you. "Oh, you're at war with my rival which attacked you? Sorry bro, I won't accept your alliance, how could I ally myself with someone fighting at war?"Yes, they should.
But perhaps the AI should be far less willing to solidify an alliance when the other party is already in a war.

Are you using claims or calling holy wars?It was a simple conquest. The problem is no one is willing to ally me as I'm a filthy pagan Zunist amongst Sunnis and Hindus, so I'm happy if I manage to snatch a county or two at a time and when all of the sudden half of India joins to defend a guy - it's not a very pleasant experience. I know it's pretty much realpolitik, but it's a pain in the ass. For simplicity reasons, just like battles don't take a few hours, but instead days, or we don't have naval combat - I believe people at war shouldn't be able to make new allies or at least call them into war.
