I wish there was an auto-trade button that would fill all the trade spots internally and if there are some left over you can trade foreignly

But I like VV 2.1 + Imperium 1.12

VV replaces provincial governors with regional governors, thus reducing the number of governors needed. Otherwise there's no real reduction in micromanagement. On the other hand, if you're running a republic, factors such as omens, buildings, and especially unused traderoutes all become influential on the national politics, so in fact micromanagement may be increased rather than decresed.
On top of that, the increased character details also adds a level of micromanagement, but most would probably consider this a good sort of micro.
As for "pointlessness" of the characters, it's rather subjective. You still have fundamentally no control over character development and family politics, and no say over the most crucial things like marriages. For me this makes the whole character system too detached and impersonal; it's still more like a god-game rather than an RPG. Surely some will disagree with me on this, but personally I think it's still very much "pointless".
Aren't there like 40 other threads where you guys have argued these same points to death already?
I guess I'm going to bite the bullet and get this puppy. I'm pretty sure I'll get $10 worth of fun out of it in any case.
Read my post carefully. I didn't say it adds micro, but that it makes micro more important. As for character and the rest, I already said it could be considered "good micro". No point to be smug about it. How does that stuff add micro-management?
Agreed. But of course that would very much depend on your budget and how much you like vanilla EUR.VV is definitely worth purchasing.
Characters in Rome tend to marry themselves with strong families, there are no random hillbillies as uly make it sound, but the marriages are arranged between strong families. Yes, you can not have a breeding program like in CK, but you do get the political family-ties through marriages. Anyway, it lessens the horrible micromanagement that marriages are in CK.
Yay, even more people who tag on my (unknown) crusade for choosing who your characters marry! This is the only feature I really miss in Vae Victis, hopefully it isn't too hard to implement, so we can see it in an upcoming patch.
I can only recommend Rome and Vae Victis; I played Rome 1.x alot, but eventually got bored of it. VV has revived my interest for the game, but much credit must also be given to the steady modding base we have.
Jarkko Suvinen said:uly shows his total lack of understanding of the game again. Do not take any of his words at face value, he apparently does not even own the game, and for sure has not played it.
Alright, I just put my money where my mouth is
So...What are the best mods going right now? I loved Rome Enhanced back in the 1.0/1.1 days, but I know it died...what's taken it's place?
