Should I destroy my de jure kingdom titles?

Hey guys. So I'm playing as Sancho the Strong, and I've just finished becoming king of the Catholic kingdoms, except for Aragon. At this point, most of my nobles don't have low negative opinions of me, but that'll change once my son takes the throne (he's not up to snuff, sadly o), so should I destroy all of my kingdom titles except for Castile, to make my life easier down the line?

As long as you are only a King, I don't see the benefit, unless you are aiming for a de jure drift into Castille.

You only get the Desires Kingdom of Malus if you are an Emperor. Usually, if I hold an empire I will destroy all the king title under it until I get to big to manage all the dukes.

The exception is when playing as a Russian, where you need those titles to keep you alive after the Horde mangles you. Sucks to go from Tsar to count...

I would. The advantage to having multiple Kingdom titles is a higher Prestige income, but I don't feel that it's worth the opinion reduction. It's also a pain to manage two sets of Succession Laws at once, and it's even worse if a faction manages to change the Laws in one of your Kingdoms.

Are you sure? Unless the last patch changed something, any non-primary Kingdom title you have should incur a penalty.

I would personally destroy those kingdoms. If I play a reconquista game I love to drift all of Iberia into one big kingdom and then create the Empire.

If you hold on to those kingdoms a) there will be permanent maluses with dukes in those kingoms and b) they will plot to steal away those kingdoms from you.
