Should I blitz my enemies or something else?

I am trying an Axis run (World conquest if things go sour) with Argentina and I noticed that a lot of the South American countries have only a capitol and one or more victory points. I easily just set all of my troops to attack the capitol and immediately annexed them, I kinda just set all my troops to attack Uruguay and Paraguay, and dealt with politics and technology (Fire and forget really) But will this work for other bigger countries with more victory points like Brazil and Mexico? Because with these small countries it is working like a charm and wars usually only last at most a couple of months but I am worried I may rely too heavily on it when it is least effective, so is there any other countries that require a different tactic for success? Thank you for reading this and answering.

Personally I feel there are two few victory points in DH. It makes blitzing minor countries way too easy.

Regrettably the game has not found the VP sweet spot yet; HOI2 had too few, Iron Cross had too many, AoD too few again. The main problem is not one of VP, its more a problem of the occupational penalties of a country. Capturing Chile´s capital of Santiago would not mean that the country itself would surrended, even if officially annexed, it would only mean that the country would try to expel the invader with their remaining forces. This poses the problem of IC points in incredibly remote and stupid locations like Midway preventing you from conquering mayors, even though you own the entire US continental land mass.

I usually conquer a country before I annex it, adding a little roleplay element and only annex them when they can't fight anymore.
