Like Materialists congratulating you and respecting you more and even having a quest behind the science nexus.

Spiritualists should be offended if it affects their holy worlds. (Ringworlds eat worlds, Dysons turn them into frozen/barren worlds.)

Xenophiles probably would act like Materialists as well. (I think they'd "study" you more seeing how remarkable you are. Maybe try to encourage you to follow in their footsteps?)

And Xenophobes would probably attack you if you built the sensor one or just try to take your stuff.

I like all these ideas. Mega-structures should cause Fallen Empires to take notice of you. If nothing else, they should increase the chances of them awakening.

Oh man, I feel like there should be a extra type of event triggered if you demolish a Holy World to make a megastructure. I kinda feel like they should immediately declare war on your empire with "Purge" repeatedly in their War Goals.

They shouldn't let it get that far, they should immediately demand you stop then attack if you refuse when you try to start construction.

Didn't the Dev Diary on this stuff explicitly mention that it draws the attention of Fallen Empires (as well as the normal ones)?

Building a Megastructure is hardly a subtle affair, and once an empire starts construction on such a project, all other empires that have communications with them will be notified about the start, progression and completion of such a project. As monumental undertakings involving the resources of a whole empire, these projects can also have unintended political and diplomatic consequenses. Also, much like the Ringworlds already in the game, you are not the first civilization to conceive of the idea of Megastructures, and you may encounter ancient, ruined Megastructures while exploring.

You should definitely get some warning before they decide to kick you into next week. Spiritualist perhaps 'gently suggesting' that killing their holy world isn't the best of ideas, then declaring war when your project nears completion as a last resort. Besides, they're dismissive, they should assume that you won't be able to finish it anyway, being weak and backwards etc.

Conversely, I think it'd be neat if xenophobes took the opposite stance and 'encouraged' you in a faintly sinister way that yes, you totally should build that sensor array. It's a great idea. Then as soon as you finish it, declare war to take it off of you. Them suddenly being nice to you should be a good warning, and it would make sense for them to want to take your array (that they can't build, not that they'd admit it) to monitor the other alien scum.

Xenophiles should probably be rather upset if you freeze or cannibalize inhabited planets (possibly even with pre-sentient pops), but otherwise be positive towards creating ringworlds (ideal living for all kinds of aliens seems like something they'd like) and possibly Dyson spheres (more energy readily available = better living (or a bigger Purification Fleet, but they don't need to know about that)). They could see the Sensor Array as something positive as well (because you want to learn more about the other species' activities, surely to advance peaceful co-existence!), and might be moderately impressed by the Science Nexus (because clearly it won't be used to research weapons!).

Spiritualists would presumably dislike cannibalizing Tomb Worlds as well, though freezing them might not be seen as quite as bad. As mentioned before, if you are foolish enough to mess with the systems where their Holy Worlds are, there should be no forgiveness, and, if you have Leviathans, they probably should Awaken right there and then and set out to eradicate you, regardless of the number of Awakened FEs, Prethoryn/Unbidden/AI troubles, etc. Other than that, Dyson spheres and ringworlds might not attract their notice (unless they are of the opinion that messing with the galaxy's nature as a whole is bad, in which case terraforming probably should be offensive too), the Sensor Array would probably not impress them very much, and the Science Nexus should probably not get much notice.

Materialists could either react in a friendly, if condescending, fashion ("It is good to see that you understand the importance of science, even if your idea of science is laughable! Come see us in another thousand years, if you are still around by then, and we might consider you somewhat close to an equal!") or be rather upset ("Your species is already researching things best left alone, and now you seek to expand on that? Your 'Science Nexus' will be allowed to stand, for now, but if we see even a hint of AI research or experimental FTL drives our mighty fleets will pay you a visit!") if you build a Science Nexus. They should probably be mostly positive/wistful when it comes to ringworlds and Dyson spheres, though (unless you have gone out of your way to insult them), and ignore the Sensor Array.

Xenophobes should probably be dismissive or negative towards everything you do. The Sensor Array, as mentioned above, might be viewed as a threat as you seek to gather intel on them, as might Dyson spheres (because more energy = more ships = more likely to get uppity) and the Science Nexus (because better tech = better ships = more likely to get uppity). Ringworlds, if sufficiently distant, might be ignored, but if they are constructed anywhere close to the FE they should likely be viewed with suspicion (because even if you don't colonize them right away the FE wants to be left alone).

Maybe they could demand that you help them with that in exchange of some kind of reward?

Being as smug as always?

And making you pay for it? XD

Demand you surrender your ringworld to (your betters) them? And ma-a-a-a-aybe give you an escort as a payment for the said ringworld. And if you refuse, once at least one section is settled, they go to war with you with the goal of taking over it.

I meant forcing you to allocate the resources and the technology to fix their ringworlds, in exchange of a real reward.

Like why would they want you to hand over a ringworld when they have one that just needs a "little" repairing?
