I started a game in India in the 769 start. I had an heir, but was unmarried, and there was no indication of what had happened to my wife. I went looking for another wife, but I found the same was true across India - many kingdoms had very few or no noble women, and most kingdoms were ruled by single men with single heirs of unknown origin! I cannot imagine any period of Indian history where this was the case. The same was true of a Venice game, where my doge was unmarried, yet had a single male heir, who himself was unmarried but had a single male heir. Please explain what is going on here.

Also, please tell me why it requires less crown authority to give titles to the youngest (ultimogeniture) son than the oldest (primogeniture).

Hence my mention of the Venice game.

Just as the 867 startdate the 768 startdate has way too few characters. Most one-county counts have a son so that dynasties don't die out en masse. But there's no other children, siblings or other kin.
On startup most rulers have to take the prestige hit to get married or wait 16 years until one of the newborn daughters is 16 years old. There's only a very limited number of girls eligible for marriage at startup (nearly none for non-Christians)

This is not a bug per se; They would have to re-visit the startdate(s) and add much more people. And they probably won't do that.

If you guys would let one month pass, the game will auto-generate hundreds/thousands of female courtiers around the world. They just aren't there before you unpause the game.

It's WAD though. Unless you found historical records of spouses and mother to the existing characters that is. Otherwise there is little PDS will do to fix this.

I really don't like the acronym WAD. "Working as designed" implies that someone consciously decided upon something. Which is probably not the case here. I don't think that there is an internal memo that told the guy who was tasked with making the start date to not include all too many characters.
"For regions without known characters create 2 people per dynasty at most, both men. Never create female dynasty members"

Nobles at the start of the game aren't "created." They all have to be in the history file.

I'm pretty sure it's "WAD" that they didn't spend additional work-hours adding thousands of fictional/barely recorded female nobles to the history files.

I specified noble women, not courtiers.

Even if they cannot find any historical women for these dynasties, though I am sure they could find at least some if they could find 2 male members for each dynasty, they could just add fictional ones so the game actually makes sense. It is more historical to have fictional female dynasty members than to have none at all. This, like much else in Charlemagne, seems half-baked and rushed. If it is working as designed, Paradox have a very poor sense of design, because this is not how they designed the original game.

It is like this for the placeholders in the later start dates as well, so the incident isn't unique at all. Placeholders will be placeholders, fictional and not very important.

So why can they not have placeholder wives, mothers and daughters?

Since I myself is currently playing in India in our office MP, I had pretty much the same question, and this is something that will most likely not change, as tbh.. it's a minor inconvenience. And even IF I went to the dev team and asked them to add more female noble characters, and they agreed, it would end up so far down in the list to do as they have their hands full on fixing more important issues (which I also think they should do).

Could Crusader Kings 3 please go out with accurate minimum spec info? Or could the devs acknowledge that the game is not functional on 2 GB accessible RAM, which is considered the standard for low to mid range PCs?

How is my adding my two cents to this particular converation "hijacking" the thread? And who died and left the intellectual property rights to it to you?

I'd say if nothing else, you've wasted my time and yours, as well as further derailed the conversation.

I find it strange that Nest ferch Rodri is a reliable OG bridematch. Welsh Empress of Byzantium? Bring it on!

The fact that this is considered one of the more minor issues with the game does not say much for its current state post Charlemagne. It is a silly, sorry mess.
