Shop refuses payment by credit card

I wanted to take part in the summer sale, trying to buy the latest expansion to CK II + the two latest DLCs by credit card. At first, I thought the shop was not able to process cards with a SecureCode active, but even after I temporarily deactivated that feature clicking the CONFIRM button only lets a window pop up saying "The payment is REFUSED." I double-checked the card number, name of holder, the expiration date and the validation number, agreed to terms of sale and I have enough money on the card to buy the three items. Card is not expired and the last successfull transaction was in June.

I'm having the same problem, but I've never bought anything from the PDX store before. I've tried waiting 24 hours between attempts to no avail. My credit card is charged and then immediately refunded, and the card works everywhere else, so the problem must be on this end. The DLCs for CK2 are quite expensive and I'd really like to buy them on sale. Is there any other way to resolve this problem?

You could log a ticket at paradox.zendesk.com with all relevant details, and we can look into your specific case. But we're not a credit rating agency, we just take the word of the CC provider via our credit-checking agency Adyen. We don't have a button we can press saying "let this one through anyway!", unfortunately. Maybe try a different CC, or PayPal if you have it.

The same problem here. I've tried twice. I ended buy HOI 4 from steam 1 hour after with the same credit card which I tried to use on paradox plaza and it has worked smoothly. I have the card enrolled in a 3D secure system.

I'm getting this right now as well. It's refusing both of my cards, and PayPal doesn't seem to be working, either.

I just got the same issue. I tried purchasing DLC, and received a Payment refused error. I figured that I might of mess up on the card number or something, so I tried again and same error. I logged into my credit card portal, and I got charged twice by Paradox.

Not impressed.

We are being targeted by fraudsters at the moment, so have had to tighten up our Webshop security. Unfortunately that sometimes catches genuine customers such as yourself.

I'm having the same issue, payment being refused on multiple browsers and with multiple (valid) cards. But on my second attempt with one I received the message that the client-side encryption had failed, that the credit card details had not been encrypted properly.

Also, when I try to pay with PayPal, the payment page just loops me back to the beginning. It doesn't ask me to login or in any way provide payment details.

I really want to buy some DLC, but this sale is too short to have to wait 24 hours every time the encryption has an error.

Same problem here I just wanted the good sells prices on the CK2 dlcs that are not in steam store, but now my bank is showing I purchased these DLC's 3 times...

Well I attempted thrice, and am now out 22 bucks with no CD Keys so I'd say best not try again. I submitted a support ticket with a screenshot of my bank account but who knows. It may be simply what I'm think (I used to work for a bank call center) that you're attempting a purchase coming up as Stockholm Sweden, and didn't call into your bank giving a travel advisory. Even though it's just online it reads as Stockholm.

I'm having the same problems. Paypal simply doesn't work (it just returns to the checkout page), and credit cards all refused. Two charges made to CC account, but both were immediately refunded. Got a few times the client-side encryption error also.

I've bought DLC through paradox plaza in previous sales, but now I can't seem to get it to work. I tried twice, with a 24 hour+ wait between both attempts and all I get is a payment refused error. I get no charges to my credit card and as far as I can tell my bank has no issues because I have used my card in the past day and I can access my account just fine which leads me to believe this is an error on paradox's end.

I really want to spend $20 on a few DLC packs but it looks like I'm just gonna have to wait until reapers due comes out along (hopefully) with a steam sale on the other DLC.

The sale will be over in just over 24 hours, so that's a pretty crummy situation. Can we at least have a commitment that the various pending charges that didn't owrk will be reversed?

After spending hours playing CK2 and periodically trying to purchase dlc without success, I'm hoping the sale will be extended. Its not much of a sale if we can't give you our money.

So Ive found a workaround that worked for me. I originally tried to purchase some DLC with a Credit Card. Refused. Tried Paypal, doesn't go anywhere; my account is locked out.
Because the 24 hour store lockout is account bound, I tried creating a 2nd account. This worked for me. I was able to purchase everything I wanted using Paypal.
Got my codes, and entered them on my Steam account.
