I just started a game in Japan. I started as Shiba, I found I can't rival any other daimyos because I'm a vassal of Japan, but the other daimyos don't seem to have that issue, I keep getting popups about some daimyo rivaling another daimyo (or me), and I see when trying to ally with some of them that I have a -75 rivalry penalty, and yet it won't let me rival anybody. Am I missing something here? (playing with beta patch 1.8.1)
Question 2:
Another Daimyo recently declared war on Japan for emperorship. When I checked if I wanted to do the same thing I noticed all the other daimyos would side with the emperor, so I figured I had to be big enough to take on everybody else... but then when that daimyo declared war, I (and a couple of others) were allied with them instead of Japan, so not sure why the difference.
Question 3: That Daimyo won the war. I see in my diplomacy info that I have a truce with Japan, Date and Ouchi, and yet when I check to DOW on Huesugi or Osokawa (or even Japan), it says I would get -5 stability for breaking truce, but I can't see that truce anywhere. What's going on?
