1429 - Mess and Mopping up
Kosho starts by picking on Taiwan... not at all a difficult target, but best to get them before someone else does...
As much as they want to be a part of the Japanese Empire, they feel that their own rulers were slightly less competent and wish to return to the freedoms they therefore enjoyed
Ezochi is discovered... an uninteresting, uninhabited island... we send some criminals out thee to get them out of our hair.
Chu have put a hole in the middle of Ming, making travel time for putting down revolts extra long, everyone munches away... (they have 1 unoccupied province, rebel occupation doesn't show up so well)
So far the neglect of Hyuga has done wonders for the economy, however Prince Ogi decides to implement a tax on movement... the wisdom of this policy is questioned but doubts soon fade as the money comes in
Japanese forgers provide an excuse to move into new lands. Reports come in that the peasants in these countries are crossing the borders into Awa held lands... we are unsure why until Kosho arrives in theirs...
The miserable state of the Koreans... and note our own small army; no point wasting money on something we don't really need right now. Besides... the country is low on sake and we all know what happens to sake-deprived soldiers
Well... when you are ruled by someone who cant even write his own name, speak coherently, and violates your home whilst failing to do those things... what do you expect people to do? We give them more freedoms in an attempt to keep them at home.
After a naval encounter in which the Izumo Admiral got a nasty red stain on his shirt (from wine not blood) Izumo call it a day and pack their bags (they declared in support of Musashi)
Musashi follow them. Kosho is now officially styled "His Disgrace, scum of the earth".
We discover a large lemming population living in Japan... oh well 25% off, not too shabby.
Um spreading lies? where Kosho is concerned are we sure they are lies? Meanwhile Kosho does what he does best... cracking nuts.
Kosho makes a succession of jokes about Dodos, Tanukis and the Jin Emperor's wife. Sadly they are not very good and the repercussions are felt
Faith in our government is somewhat restored by the hiring of this enlightened man, not only does he help in the eventual conversion of Taiwan, he restores some stability to our realm (he haz skilz)
Ogi asks for some statistics to be compiled (mainly so he can stick it on his wall, giving the impression he actually does work). Awa has the highest Infamy and the highest income in the known world... yummy
The mainland is still strewn with corpses... all that is left in Japan is Dewa - their ruler doesn't like to leave his room let alone his country so they wisely failed to join in the lemming-fest. The Awa court sends him a pleasant thank-you gift. He is now convinced he has a stalker.
Things look like they may come to an abrupt end for Manchu too...
The criminals we sent to Ezochi have started up a red light district...
Of course we say "relative" what we mean is "Kosho"... so naturally no one is executed.
Damn... one has to wonder exactly what they are taxing to make them that pissed
