I'm playing the latest Paradox update, but not using MTG. After I annex France and the U.K. to get their fleets, the ships won't reinforce. Autoreinforce does nothing, I think it has something to do with those new ship icons, the gun and skull, etc. You can't use those if you don't have MTG. But even if I move the other fleets to reserves, create a template to house them and change the icons manually, they won't reinforce. The ships break off to merge with other fleets, but the change doesn't stick, and in a day or three they end up back in reserve. Oddly enough, it doesn't always happen; about 60% of the ships have eventually migrated to fill fleets, though I often had to try a half-dozen times before it happened. Even if I manually grab ships and move them directly to another fleet and get the double arrow signal showing that the fleets are reinforcing, they still reappear back in reserves. How can I fix this? At the moment, I have excellent capital ships wasting away in reserves as I plot my assault on America.

Yes. The annexation worked fine. By the time I conquered France, I had enough convoys to reduce their autonomy quickly.

Tip: You'll need 2,250 points to get from puppet to annexation, but don't do it all at once. If you send enough convoys to gain 2,250 points right away, it will only get you to the next level. No overflow into the last level of autonomy for direct annexation. Oddly enough, when I annexed Britain and the U.S. later, I also got their planes, which didn't happen with France.
