First off I would like to say that I have logged over 500 hours on this game so please spare me the easy fixes.

The problem I am having is long queues for trains and ships departing the city. The vehicles are stuck outside the city and the queue backs up into the city and obstructs intra-city transport. I thought this bug was fixed in 1.1.1b but it's not even after updating, I played my city with all mods/assets disabled to make sure. I do have close to 200,000 people, 25 zones unlocked so I understand I'm pushing the limits of the 'sim every individual' engine, but still I don't understand why the vehicles don't just explode as soon as they leave.. like really, could someone point me to the part of the code where I might be able to write a mod that puts the kibosh on these schleppers. just wipe them off the face of the map as soon as they hit the dotted border. Or even better, any help paradox?

yes custom vehicles were off along with all the other assets. yes I turned the train budget all the way down, yes my train rails are split into 3 while leaving the city, yes my international/domestic cargo and passenger lines never cross inside the city. I need a hard fix, no workarounds, ive invested 100+ hours just into this city (the ships being stuck is most bewildering).
Additional info:imports 161/ exports 7,643 most of the international train backup is passanger, ship traffic is a pretty good mix of cargo and passanger

Since you seem to have researched already, can you post your saved game so we can get a closer look into the interworkings better. Pics/videos/descriptions just don't cut it. we need dissect your city to figure out your issues.

Okay, I was able to download it. Sorry, I am not much help with steam's inner workings more. I've been using it since it was launched, but this is the first game I have had to use the features of Steam.

Anyway, the map won't load properly. It is missing mods/assets and won't load properly.

Can you list your mods/assets please/.

Thank you for compiling that list of mods/assets. That is cool, I wish I knew how to do that (hint, hint)

I got everything loaded up and enable, but when I hit the desktop I get a couple of asset errors on some parks. But when I get into the game, all of the options in the GUI are disabled (red circle with a line through it).

Where there anymore assets/mods? I made sure I enabled them all, but it seems at least one is still missing.

also, no water at start either. It looks like small sections have water, but the majority of the map is wanting water.

okay, it loaded finally. I had accidentally disabled assets while scrolling through them and disabled some pre-existing mods as I was using them. apparently they were used by your game as well.

anyway, I couldn't really find anything wrong other than an insane amount of harbors causing a flood of ships. I turned off all harbors and all is fine. Just enable them one at a time where NEEDED and it should be OK. If you need all of thise harbors for aethetic reasons, then maybe you need a harbor park or something. As is, it is way too many harbors for your city's needs. plus the extra ships just make smaller loads causing issues. make sure most of your ships are at least half full or more to keep traffic down.

You have to remember this is a game. An agent based simulator designed to get cims to travel from point A to point B in a timely manner or things start to fall apart. In this case, you are over flooding the regional harbor. it needs time to load/unload ships.

This is part of the game mechanic of balancing your city. it is telling you your city is out of balance and telling you to right the ship, so to speak.

Oddly, disabling all of the harbors had no ill affect on the trains. I was expecting the trains to be choked even worse. Maybe I'm still missing some mod/asset for trains or something? or need to change options in some mod?

The rest of the city still has issues, but with road improvements here and there may clear that up as well.

Let me know if you have further issues or questions.

Edit:
I added more memory as the game was maxed out. I put in my 16GB RAM from my other rig and the game was using over 12gb of data, plus my video card's 4GB vRAM was being maxed out almost immediately. I think it took over 2 minute to load the game from my SSD.

you just go to the main workshop site for cities, and go to the collections tab, there's a create new collection button on the right hand side.

are you talking about that cluster of cargo harbors?those are for aesthetics, the port of Norfolk [which is actually in the exact same physical location on the map] handles the most gross tonnage of cargo on the eastern seaboard, but you're right, I should turn them off.
or the passenger harbors? do cims not use harbors to get across the river then use other modes of mass transport?

The rest of the city still has issues, but with road improvements here and there may clear that up as well.

:/ yeah wat do you expect when you're doing exlusively high density, plus there's another issue of cars being stuck in only 1 lane and the other 2 lanes of the highway being completely empty, no matter how many times i bulldoze and rebuild.

lol, yea I built a 2K custom build from newegg almost exclusively just to play this game. I'm still okay on max detail+anti-alias but I'm probably going to have to turn that down soon.

Cool, that sounds easy enough. I have two game accounts so I can use my alt account to create them. Once I learn it, then I can tell others who want me to look at cites for them and can have them compile a complete list for me so I know I have all mods/assets they have, and not missing any.

Hopefully CO implements something like this to each save game. It'll make things much easier.

I'm talking about all harbors. You only need a small handful to do the job. You may need to make harbor parks, ploping a harbor and turning it off looks ugly as it has that flashing off symbol on the harbors all of the time.

As for passenger harbors, I'm not sure how they work. I never have been able to use ships on my maps. I barely get harbors to plop in a very small portion of the river. But if passenger harbors don't have plopable stops, then I assume it only brings ships from the region and sends them out (presumably tourists and workers). I didn't notice any ship going from harbor to harbor, but then again I wasn't looking for that behavior.

With exclusive HD, then you really need all 6-lane roads. They produce a lot of traffic and a lot of traffic jams.

single lines of traffic is caused from cims only having one way to go somewhere. So they queue up in long lines.

You just need to either create alternate routes, or create demand elsewhere so they queue up to go in the other two directions. It gets harder the fuller the city becomes since you get cornered in or on an edge, then you just need to rezone constantly until you get the right mix of demands.

It's probably easier to start in a corner and work your way out, instead of working yourself into a corner, then start expanding in the opposite direction and create a different demand elsewhere. If you start in a corner, you should keep pushing the demand away instead of it bouncing back and forth from buying a north tile and fill it, then a south tile and fill it, then a east tile then fill it, then a northeast tile and fill it, etc. you can probably picture the constant tug of war you end up putting on your city.

LOL, me too. I may have even went a little over on this latest build.

What are your rigs specs?

Myself, I have an i7-4790K @ 4.4GHz with a pair of useless GTX 780 (This game doesn't support SLI or Crossfire). Thinking of selling them and getting an R9 390X or Fury, since they have 8GB vRAM, but they still have severe driver issues even after about 3 months after release. But this always seems to be the case with AMD. But usually most issue are done by three months. but not this time.

Anyway, I was at 450k and now down to about 400k with these latest 110 nad 111 updates improving traffic flow and clogging my streets. My 4970k even clocked at 4.4GHz is starting to show signs of stress. x2 an x3 speeds are not always working. It is stuck at x1 even if I enable x2 or x3. It makes it extremely slow to repair your broken city at this slow pace.

I'm saving up for a 6-core i7 now. I want the 8-core i7, but I'm not spending a $1,000 for a CPU. I'm having a hard time saving for a $500 CPU 6-core, although I may settle for the $350 i7 6-core and overclock a little.

I just tried to do this and got nothing. It was a blank page saying there were no matches found for rmjohnson144.

Does this only work for your own mods? I want to make a list of mods I'm using of someone else's mods. Is this even possible?
