let us use galleys and tradeing ships in large rivers like volga, rhine, donau, nile, yangtze, mekong, niger, missisipi, lena, huang he..
Hell those rivers (except rhine/donau) are bloody huge, the huang he for instance has an average width of 20 kilometers.
You cant tell me there is no galley fitting into that. You can ship entire fleets in an 20 kilometer wide river. I mean, im fine if heavy ships cant pass rivers, thats logical, but galleys and trading ships should be able to cross huge rivers..
