A short one.
Thamasp I, Part Two
Thamasp was pleased to hear that the Ottoman Empire had launched another righteous crusade against the Venetians in June of 1531. He sent a small Persian regiment to help as a sign of goodwill, though they would be treated poorly by many of the Ottoman rank and file troops. The Crusade gained strength in 1532, as Aden joined an alliance with the Sultan. This was shortly after the Christian Pope brutally subjugated the helpless Duchy of Tuscany and added it to his empire. "No Muslim would do such a cruel thing", the Shah declared at a ceremonial New Year's Hindu beheading.
October of the same year brought strange tidings. The Pope, the Knights of St. John, and other Italian states had launched a war against Venice. More Christian infighting was always welcomed by the Shah, in any case.
On June 7th, 1533, several Sunni nobles in the Iraq province were discovered to have been levying unfair taxes against the Shi'a minority. They were quickly put to death, and, amazingly, the Sultan of Turkey declared that they were a stain on the face of Islam. Surely a good sign for Persia.
Late January 1534 brought tidings of war, as the pathetic people of Al-Haasa declared war on Persia's peaceful vassal, Mus'asha'. The reterdedly named states of Ghara and Mahra aalso joined the war. They would soon feel the wrath of the Safavid Empire. In a mere three months, sieges had been initiated in both of Al-Haasa's provinces.
The sieges in Al-Haasa
The Ottoman Empire made a rather stupid conquest in November, adding Navarra to their empire. December 6th saw Algiers annex Tlecmen, much to Thamasp's dismay.
Nothing at all happened in 1535, but New Year's, 1536 saw the end of the Turkish crusade against Venice, with the Turks paying a small sum in tribute. In April, Quatar was captured from Al-Haasa, and all fifteen of the Sultan's daughter's were made concubines to Thamasp. Mere days later, Damman fell, and peace negotiations began. On April 28th, Al-Haasa became a vassal to the Shah. Thamasp didn't know exactly why he vassalized them, as they were Sunni and couldn't be annexed, but he figured it was the right thing to do. This would be the last major victory of Thamasp's reign, as he had a crappy Diplomacy rating and couldn't even annex his tiny vassal. And besides, his head hurt.
