The use of shift-right-click to string objectives together does not work with delayed jump-offs. For example:
If I want my armor to attack Antwerp, then rush on to Namur and Reims, I can only give those consecutive commands if I attack immediately. I cannot use the CCB to set an attack to start 6 hours in the future, then shift-right-click on the other objectives. Either the attack begins immediately, or my armor will be sent off on a new route to the next objective.
The first objective should be finalized with all its details, THEN the next objective tacked onto the end.
The mechanics of combat unit control really make planning true OFFENSIVES inordinately difficult if not impossible. When military commanders plan an operation, they give out orders to all units in advance. Orders have a sequence of objectives, and a timetable. That is very difficult to do in HOI, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to order an initial, carefully-planned and coordinated, offensive before a DOW.
