I personally like the idea behind shattered retreats (longer wars less dependent on single decisive battles), but the distances armies retreat is absolutely ridiculous. And when you turn it off, the tendency for the AI to never flee more than one province even with a giant army on their tail is pretty silly.

Is there a way or mod to set a sort of middle ground, that prevents shattered armies from fleeing more than 3-4 provinces at a time? Or perhaps increase the speed of smaller armies so they can actually outrun the larger one bearing down on them, while increasing the AI's tendency to try and do so?

If this question is better suited for the mod forum let me know, and I'll ask it there instead. But I think with the new options menu, maybe a reduced or restricted shattered retreat option would be fantastic.
