at time when I click on the share tech - the tech selected goes grey, but is again availabe to give after 7 days... anybody know why?

I am sure it doesn't... Are you sure it isn't some tech with the same names (like Doctrine levels that have the same name for naval and land?)
no I was giving them infantry 30 mm - I think it was and it turned grey but was still on the screen - trading with them was free so there was not DI cost - it was in mp and I was not the host - so maybe a lag issue?

Yes, its a lag problem.
However, yesterday I saw the samething with Germ giving 30 mm
And this happened twice !
Make sure you stay in th trade tech screen until it takes.
I will keep an eye on it. No other problems with other tech shares.

Sorry for asking this question, but which version are you playing?
IIRC, this was a known bug and fixed in 1.05.
