I thought it would be fun to share your Aquatic builds and maybe talk a bit about your reasons for selecting what you did! I am an RP lite player, I like to make choices based on how I think my species developed/evolved and in-game what choices they'd make based on that.

So the Manta are all about maximizing their population on that giant world, I like the Necroid advisor voice for them better than the very pirate-y Aquatic voice. Now my next build on the other hand that advisor voice fits perfectly.

I'll probably be going Pompous Purists/Master Crafters on an Ocean Paradise. Ultimate snub build, we're better and you can't do anything about it. :p

Species Name: Siren (Humans + Only Female Pops/Leaders)
Traits: Aquatic, Charismatic, Weak
Ethics: Authoritarian, Fanatic Xenophobe
Origin: Ocean Paradies
Civics: Diplomatic Corps, Catalytic Processing

Sirens lure xenos into the deep turning them into food and alloys. I'll take the psionic ascension path for roleplaying reasons.

I don't actually have Aquatics yet, but I do have an idea for an alt history oceanic Human civilization that uses the Verne aquatic namelist. It's very much romanticized,
Traits: Aquatic (they evolved as landlubbers, but they grew to live and breathe by the sea), Thrifty, Strong, Wasteful, and Sedentary - admittedly, nomadic might be better, but I'm imagining this in the greater context of preferring to live near the ocean, not expanding across their world through oceanic exploration and trade.
Ethics will be Militarist, Xenophile, and Materialist. So, powerful traders who enjoy progress and wealth.
The civics are Anglers and Catalytic Processing, I'll admit, I want that second one to have somewhere for the food to go, but also, it's a potentially interesting scenario. If mineral resources were harder to reach, and we figured out how to use synthetic materials instead, how would that look? But Merchant guilds will be the 3rd civic.
Oh, I almost forgot - Oligarchic or Imperial as the government type, but I'm leaning towards Oligarchic because of the idea of independent merchants and traders leading the government rather than Aristocrats working on behalf of the crown.
The origin is obviously Ocean paradise, and the advisor will be the new one.
Ships and city will be Aquatic, and the flag will be blues and/or greens.

It just feels like a fun RP to me.
