I would like to thank our Caudillo for his just and enlightened rule over Chile for this past year. With that said, there is much that still remains to be done....
First and foremost I urge you, Fernandez, to seek reconciliation with the Chilean Free State now based in Panama. One can prattle on and on about how De Conti is a traitor to our cause, how his government was weak and ineffective, how he deserves to be executed by firing squad and have his body thrown to the lions, etc. but once we wade through all the ideologically charged nonsense the facts still remain. De Conti has been one of the most prominent backers of a nationalist coup since before his ascent to the presidency. How can we justify our hatred of the man when most of this is due to his careful planning? It seems like some in the Congreso are opposed to De Conti because they are fearful that their own positions within the nationalist government will be in jeopardy. He is an able man, a fine administrator, and a fellow rightist. You cannot blame him because he saw the old system crashing down around him and panicked. If I were in his position I too would want to be seen as a paragon of the 3rd republic rather than a weak President who allowed a member of the clergy to usurp his position as leader of the Chileans. Also, I must stress that De Conti is in possession of one of the most important waterways on earth and our navy to boot! It would take years for our nation to make anew our fleet and until then we would constantly have the "Free Chileans" harassing our shipping industry! We cannot hope to maintain a sphere of influence around the entirety of South America is we cannot control the Panama Canal. Because of this problem I would like to put forth a bill to the Congreso, the "National Amnesty Bill" or the "Brotherhood Bill" wherein...
1. All members of the "Free Chilean Government" will be given a chance to surrender to the Nationalist government
2. All members of the "Free State" will receive amnesty for their crimes against the Nationalist government
3. There will be no laws made to prohibit former members of the "Free Government" from participating in government
4. All territory and military units will be indoctrinated into the Nationalist government
4a. all military units who refuse will be discharged
4b. All politicians and officers granted amnesty must first swear allegiance to the Caudillo and the Nationalist Government
Don't get me wrong, I support our nationalist government and don't mind seeing the Socialistas go the way of the dinosaur thanks to our political party policies, but please members of the Fente Nacional, find it in your hearts (and if not your hearts than your sensible minds) to pardon these men and return Chile to political and geographical equilibrium.
