Same here! Though if time allows, I will attempt a catch-up...

That's a pretty cool idea, actually!Evangelion said:My suggestion: Take all Castillian coastal-provinces in Iberia. that should make a dent in their naval-ambitions....
But the last time I made a country a forced-vassal (Portugal), they declared war on me 3 years later!!! :rofl:Lord E said:I think you should make all your enemies your vassals to stop them from doing this ever again, also then you can peacefully annex them after a period so that is also nice![]()
Thanks!Skinner_Empire said:another great update
Well, I've always operated way below my forcelimit, so I often have to absorb the early attacks and come back gradually because my units are spread out all over, and it takes time to concentrate them.WhisperingDeath said:A little more "back & forth" in this war than was to be expected. Oh well, blame it on the autopilot!![]()
I think you'll probably catch on quickly, and even if you have trouble, you're right -- it'll still be an interesting AAR! Actually, my other big AAR -- a Victoria AAR called Fire Warms the Northern Lands became quite popular because I almost lost! It was mildly popular up until that point, but then when the French armies were surging into Prussian territory and I had little to keep them back, that's what really caught people's attention! Those AARs can be quite interesting, and popular, because I think people learn more from that kind of AAR.Tricky Lady said:Going a bit off topic, I think I could indeed do an AAR with some German or Italian minor. This could be interesting from this point of view: will I survive or not? (I mean: most AARs end in total victory, usually ). I could be a kind of a counterweight to those victorious AARs
That's funny. I'm such a control freak I don't know if I could handle the stress!Enewald said:Two months isn't that bad. I once forgot to put pause on and went looking events. I came back 6 years later.
My empire, as planned, will be quite stretched, anyway!Bad Santa said:Actually i agree it would be nice to see some eastern expansion, bu you need to remember not to over stretch your empire
Indeed! Working on it...spl said:Vassalize France and Castille, annex them later while conquering the Ottomans! Then we can finally give Milan a name change to make it the 4th Rome officially!
Yeah, I'm quite wary of Portugal, which is why I didn't seek vassalization this time.GhostWriter said:also, don't forget that the Portuguese bailed on you the first war after they accepted vassalization ! !
it was a shame that Bavaria was not as wise in Fire Warms…
I'll make THEM pay for my mistakes!grayghost said:Man, don't you just hate when you are not paying attention and crap happens, like loosing a fleet. Doesn't seem like there was too much damage done. Smack those Portuguese and Castillans around and make them pay for there impudence!
Believe it or not, I'm ACTUALLY trying to get below the Badboy limit again! I don't know if that will happen, but...Lord E said:So I see the Portuguese and their silly allies have decided… once again… to declare war upon you. Isn’t it about time you force them to become your vassals or even better force annex these two silly countries so that they learn not to interfere in your business all them time?
I don't actually think their navy is that strong. I've beat it more or less into submission over these series of wars. After all, my navy isn't that impressive, so it's important that no one else's navy be very impressive either!Mettermrck said:Once you start occupying Portugal proper, their navy will be rendered meaningless. Hang in there!
Welcome, Capibara! Wherever you start, glad to have you along for the ride!Capibara said:As long as this AAR is, it seems I'll never catch up, so I'll just start from here![]()
If you manage to grab some provinces from Portugal and Castille after this war your control of the Iberian Peninsula will certainly increase.
Thank you! Welcome, Shiggs! Glad to have you along!Shiggs said:Very nice.... sorry I could not sit and read all 121 pages, but I read the first few, and last few entries.... Looks like your doing quite well, battling with those nasty Iberians!
Thank you, DerKaiser! And welcome! Also glad to have you along. How's school going? You're in college in Europe somewhere, yes?DerKaiser said:Same here! Though if time allows, I will attempt a catch-up...
The complete subjugation and utilization of Wichita and the Greater Metro Area!!! Oops, sorry -- wrong game! Well, I was pretty satisfied with what I got from Portugal. I don't care so much about mainland Portugal as I do about her possessions in America and northern Africa. Though if they do keep bothering me, I will be forced to annex them! As for Castille, I'd like to expand my defensible perimeters in Venezuela, though I also have cores on some of their mainland territory, which may be nice to pick up.PrawnStar said:War aims?
You know... In a later war, you will see all provinces of Castille conquered, and after they remained that way for a while, they lost their whole navy -- every ship! Taht wasn't my war, though...Evangelion said:My suggestion: Take all Castillian coastal-provinces in Iberia. that should make a dent in their naval-ambitions....
I'm glad you're pleased!DerKaiser said:Well Spain's back seems to have successfully been broken! And the borders! They're so... neat! I'm in OCD heaven!
Indeed, I am getting quite tired of her distractions...Chief Ragusa said:A decent result from Portugal. Provinces in the Americas and Europe would serioulsly weaken Castille so that she will never threaten MIlan again.
I'm actually pretty satisfied with my European holdings, suddenly. Feeling far more secure at home than ever before. That means I'm starting to look south with more interest...Ahura Mazda said:Who's next!![]()
I'm darned close. I have a little breathing room with France, still... But one day...Mettermrck said:Hurry up and tidy Iberia before the French strike!Looks like you're approaching the point of victory...
If they were smart, the rest of the Continent would be looking the other direction and minding their own business!WhisperingDeath said:I, too, hope for a speedy end to these Iberian distractions. The rest of the Continent may be eyeing your holdings with the look of a ravenous wolf....
I may well have been, but I'm also limited by what the AI will accept in terms of war settlements. Not wanting the war to drag on for months while I try different peace offers... I think I may have picked up a colony in Brazil, though I don't remember for sure. I gathered 2 colonial provinces in an earlier war, and most of their remaining provinces are already full-fledged provinces (not colonies).grayghost said:I actually think you were a bit leinent with the Portuguese, but hey, that's just me.How many Portuguese colonial possessions in S. America did you pick up as well?
